We cannot capture that which we do not see in ourselves.
It is our pain that offers us the opportunity to be present. When we allow that pain to transform us, it forges in us the ability to "see" the windows of the soul that reveal themselves. These are the moments that true photographers anticipate and are privileged to capture.

Anything else is merely, taking pictures.

2015 was a year full of pain, loss, shifts, changes and blessings. One thing that helped get me through the tough times this year, was my passion for photography. Being able to step into an environment of music filled with dear friends is a blessing I hold dear.

I want to thank those friends along with the MANY musicians that I have been given the privilege to capture in motion and sometimes be given a window into their soul, for the honor of capturing those moments in time.

Today and tomorrow, I'll be sharing some of MY favorite moments, images and frames of all of the bands I captured this year. LBC Photography wouldn't exist without all of you and I wouldn't have learned all I've learned in my craft without the permission you've given me to get in your face with my lens.

I love you and appreciate you ALL...THANK YOU for an AMAZING 2015. I look forward to an exciting, 2016!!!

There's a quote that says, "A picture paints a thousand words". As a writer, I use words to paint a mental picture and tell a story. I do the same when I step behind the lens.

Do I consider myself a photographer? Well, many have different opinions about what a photographer is. To me, my camera is the tool I use to capture the intimacy or raw emotion of a rare moment. Patiently waiting for that small, open window into the soul of a fellow human being. The essence of a musician when they find their "sweet spot" while playing (or singing) a song that resonates with their soul, to a candid moment in mid-conversation, or an embrace between lovers. To me they are "sacred moments", Holy ground, if you will.

I don't consider what I do a "job" because it is a work of the soul for me. My camera is an extension of me and the catalyst that allows me even in the smallest of ways, to freeze a frame in the fabric of time, that will last a lifetime. An image that those embedded within can look back at and remember the moment.

Am I a photographer? I dunno. But what I DO know is that I'm a storyteller. Whether that story is told with words or an image, it is a story worth telling, in my opinion. I don't take it lightly, nor do I take it for granted.

Yesterday, LBC Photography passed the "500 Like" mark. To me, it doesn't say I'm popular. To me, it means that each of you have seen something in my work that you appreciate. For that, I humbly, THANK YOU. Your love and support over the past year has meant the world to me, and continues to confirm to my heart and soul that I'm in the right place and doing the right thing.

Thank you for the honor and privilege of capturing your moments.

I want to take a moment before the day ends, to wish a Happy Father's Day, to all of the musician Dad's that I have the honor and privilege of capturing in motion, and even greater honor to call friends. I know that you all consider it what you love, and you're right, as it is that very passion that my eyes see and frame.

I also know, that to find you in front of my lens, means that you are absent from your families, be it for a little while. THANK YOU, each and every one, for all you do, everyday. For sharing a glimpse of your heart and souls with LBC Photography, and to your beautiful families for sharing you and your talent with all of us.

I hope you enjoyed your special day, with the true loves of your lives.
