❌ Here are some things you should not do when showing up to your headshot photoshoot.
📸 Never dress in less than your best. When your clients see your headshot, they want to see you as a competent business person, so be sure you're dressed as the professional you are.
📸 Never wear big jewelry. Keep the jewelry simple and not distracting.
📸 Never reveal too much skin. Of course, you don't have to cover up from head to toe, but you represent your company image.
📸 Never bring only one clothing option. More clothing choices mean more options to choose from in your final portraits. In addition, different looks might be appropriate for different situations or social profiles.
📸 Never wear busy patterns. You want to avoid anything too complex, too bold, or too contrasty. Plain solids or small subdued patterns are always best.
📸 Never wear logos. Unless it is part of your uniform, you don't want to confuse clients with different logos.
📸 Never forget to iron the day before. Have freshly pressed and crisp clothing.
📸 Never wear solid white. White gives the illusion of added bulk or creates unnatural reflections below the chin. If you wish to try white, come ready to go with a backup clothing plan.
