Jason Crews Photography Jason Crews is a concert and live event photographer based in Dallas-Fort Worth. He has photographed numerous concerts three songs at a time.

From small club shows to big arenas, Jason enjoys the fast pace of shooting on the fly, the rush of the house lights going down, and the drive to capture the "show" in the images of first three songs.

Philip Anselmo with Pantera in Dallas, framed by fire and locked into the microphone like he’s pulling the whole room in with him.

This is one of those moments that feels bigger than the frame. The flames are blowing behind him, the stage is glowing in that deep orange heat, and Phil is completely consumed by the song. Hands wrapped around the mic, voice pushed straight through the fire, body language tense and committed — everything about this shot feels raw, heavy, and alive.

That’s what makes photographing Pantera so powerful. It’s not just volume. It’s presence. It’s the kind of performance that hits you in the chest before your brain even catches up. In a frame like this, you can almost feel the blast of heat off the stage and hear the crowd erupting back at him.

As a live music photographer, those are the seconds I’m always chasing — the moments where the light, the intensity, and the performance all hit at once. The song keeps moving, the flames die down, the lights change, and the moment disappears. But the photograph keeps it breathing.

That’s why I do this. Live music is gone in an instant, but the right image can hold onto that feeling long after the last note fades.

What Pantera song instantly comes to mind when you see this shot?

Vivid and Vulgar brought some serious DFW heaviness to Club Dada in Dallas, TX on Wednesday, May 6th, 2026, and this one was a blast to shoot.

Aaron Scott was locked in on vocals, bringing that raw, in-your-face energy right up front, while Donald Eric Dando was tearing it up on guitar and giving me plenty of killer moments to catch through the lens. This is the kind of local set that reminds me why I love covering the Dallas music scene.

There’s something about shooting Infected Rain that makes it feel less like concert photography and more like creating scenes from a dark cinematic dream. The lighting, smoke, movement, and atmosphere all came together perfectly at Club Dada in Dallas, and honestly… this kind of artistic energy is what makes editing so much fun for me.

One of my favorite things about concert photography is taking moments like this and pushing them into something that feels alive beyond the stage. ⚡

🔥 THROWBACK PHOTO GALLERY 🔥

Throwing it back to Stitched Up Heart tearing up Trees Dallas on Tuesday, November 24th, 2015. This was one of those sweaty, loud, up-close club shows where the energy hit hard and the lights gave me exactly what I love to work with — color, contrast, attitude, and chaos.

These shots still hold up. Raw emotion, killer stage presence, and that perfect Trees Dallas vibe. These are the kind of photographs that reminds me why I love doing this!
