Ok, we are now officially in August ( which is crazy and makes me sad summer is over ) but that means it is almost time to start our First & Last sessions for 25/26. I have about 12 spots left so if you or a friend want to sign their kiddos up let me know. Info on the sessions is on the last slides

I know it's pretty standard for people to only start thinking about doing great school photos of their kids when they start Kinder but let's be honest, some of the cutest times are when they are in that MDO / preschool phase. This is such a fun age to document!
Excited for everyone I am getting to shoot with over the next two months!

One of the most meaningful traditions I've started as a photographer has been capturing our kids and their neighborhood friends on the first and last days of school each year. It’s been such a gift to have these images over the years, not just for our family, but for our little community of friends.

After many requests, I’m excited to say that this Fall I am opening these sessions up to other families! We love these photos and if I can help give that to someone else, I'm in!

Now, I know I can't be there on the exact first and last day for everyone, but here’s how it’ll work: we’ll schedule your sessions during the first and last months of the school year. Typically August / September for the “First Day” portraits and May / June for the “Last Day.”

Another gorgeous wedding that I’m finally sharing! These two & this venue 🤯. The architecture and design were great and add in the vibe of a surfer catching a wave as the backdrop of the ceremony. It was a great day!

Sometimes you get couples who want to go out on their families vintage sail boat for their engagement session! With shoots like these there are always logistics you have to plan out and hurdles you have to overcome but I will always say yes to shoots like these. 💯 Also a big thank you to Dan’s mom for taxiing me around in their other boat so I could get these wide shots! Loved the shoot, the couple and the final images!

Here is a recent shoot with Maya! I love these photos and she absolutely killed it & I’m sure you’ve noticed but her hair is insanely awesome. Also her mom is our youngest kiddos teacher. One of my favorite things is when people that we know in other areas of life get to cross over and experience the photo side. This year for the first time I’ve opened up my senior sessions beyond just personal referrals so if you or someone you know is looking, send them my way!

This is the exact same hard natural light in a doorway shot two different ways. Most wedding days you don’t get to chose the exact moment you will get to shoot portraits. So it’s always fun to see what light you have and then make the most of it!

So I was recently having a conversation about reality/opportunity and how to make the best of those two things on shoots. It made me think of this photo I did of J&M at the end of their wedding night. I wanted it to be them in smoke while backlit and I wanted it to have a bit more of a grainy film feel. People have said to me but I don’t have strobes and a fog machine. This is where reality/opportunity comes in. In this image they are back lit by the car they were going to leave in. The smoke is a guest, beer in hand, making all of our dreams come true with her vape!😂 ( see bts in the second photo. Also thanks for the BTS shot.) So this sort of thing might not happen every shoot but the take away is : take the reality you are given and look for the opportunity within that to make the images you really want!
