5:09PM Sam and Stone and I arrive at the Argyle and we take a few clean classic portraits on the porch.
5:12PM. Caroline my second photographer has the bridal party on the staircase and works through a few remaining groups… I’m in the air with the drone grabbing a little dynamic light hitting take tops in the tent.
5:21PM. Drone down, controller pocketed… I spot the light on the walkway so we move through it hitting a few solo portraits, and a couple of different couple lighting looks.
5:29 PM. Back to details while the light holds.
What just happened? Twenty minutes, two photographers, a drone, group portraits, couple portraits, bridal portraits. Scene setters, reception details… every other member of the vendor team working on their piece of the puzzle…all of it running at the same time. All of it calm, stress free with a bit of humor mixed in. No one yelling or running around.
The photos wind up here and in your gallery and you can see what we made, but what you can’t see is everything that didn’t happen.
The chaos that wasn’t there. The moments that never felt rushed. Your guests felt the calm. Your parents felt it. You felt it… even if you couldn’t name it.
That’s the part that never shows up in an Instagram feed. But it’s the part that makes the difference.
The longer I do this, the more I realize making the images is the easy part. Finding a way to create these images and have it feel like a joyful and effortless experience is where my value lies.
