In 2021, I challenged myself to enter four images in the International Photographic Competition that were consistent in both style and subject matter. (For those who know me, you know this is a big deal! My work is typically very wide ranging, exhibiting diverse media and subjects.)
All four entries were painted digitally. This is brushstroke-by-brushstroke work, and I find it incredibly rewarding - and relaxing! And all of my images depicted men who have reached a certain, ummm.... mature perspective on life. My hubby tells me I have a thing for older men. ;)
This painting was accepted into the prestigious Imaging Excellence collection. My subject here was the amazing watercolorist from Venice, Walter Berton. If you go to Venice, buy his whimsical and charming work. And if you're feeling generous, kindly bring me home some, as well. ☺️
(Painted with the artist's permission, of course!)
