Hey Love Studio

Hey Love Studio Hi! We're Adeline and Valerie, two wifey-s capturing images one frame at a time for Hey Love Studio. Earth is my home, and I try to take care of it.

Hi there, we're Adeline and Valerie, the souls behind Hey Love Studio—a space where each frame tells a story of love, joy, and the intimate moments that make life extraordinary. Adeline: I find joy in a few things—my wife (Valerie!), family, two cats, camera, travel, music, and food. As a neurodivergent individual, my unique brain allows me to be creative and see the world in a special way, fuelin

g an incredible passion for learning and growth. As a Queer person, I stand for Black Lives Matter, and pro-peace with love on earth. A little spiritual, I believe in energies and beautiful soul connections. Life, to me, should be lived slowly, savoring every moment, including frequent naps. English is my second language; I also speak Afrikaans and broken Korean with my wife. Eco-conscious traveling is how I hope to see the world. My favorite clothing piece is usually a sweater that holds a special connection, currently my "cool aunties club" sweater. Life has been an adventurous journey for me, and I'm grateful for every step.

Every wedding includes the "dreaded" family formal portrait time. And while we all know it's important (especially for Grandma who wants to print it for her fridge), we can't help but inject some fun into it too.

I mean, come on. Which photo is **your** favorite? The one where everyone is perfectly posed, or the one where we gave everyone q***r flags and bubble guns?

If you're getting married in 2026 or 2027 and want to have both options, you've found your photo + video team. 😎

We love the cake cutting moment - for the tradition and for the dessert. We know some couples are over it, but cake cutting usually comes at the part of the day when all other "performances" are finished. It's a moment when the couple gets to be silly and eat something sweet. Did you cut the cake at your wedding? If you're a guest, do you like watching the cake cutting?

We're ready to eat more cake. Now booking (limited) 2026 and 2027!

Hey Love, we are asking the question everyone thinks but nobody says out loud.

❓What did your elopement or wedding actually cost?

If you got married in the last five or so years, drop your numbers in the comments!

Why are we asking? Because couples who are planning right now are stressed.
They are getting invoices and wondering if what they are seeing is normal. They are googling numbers and finding ranges so wide they are basically useless. What actually helps is hearing from real people who just did it.

Transparency is a core value at Hey Love Studio, so let's talk about money. Not in a scary way! Nobody should feel blindsided by a vendor.

Drop your budget in the comments and help the couples who are still in the dreaming stage feel a little less alone. 👇

And if you are currently planning 👀and have questions about what photography and videography actually costs, hit the link in bio and let's chat!

Hey Love, yes. The moment you say the word wedding, prices go up. But here is the part that does not always get explained.

A lot of that cost is tied to skill sets, expectations, and details that come standard with a wedding or elopement whether you ask for them or not. And unless you speak up, most vendors are going to assume you want the full experience.

Think about it this way. A restaurant assumes you want the private dining room for your rehearsal dinner because that is what most couples want. If you do not want it, you have to say so.

Same with a wedding dress. You cannot build a six thousand dollar gown with two hundred dollars of materials. The cost is in the craft, the fabric, the tailoring, the hours.

Photography and videography work the same way.

When someone posts on Facebook looking for a wedding photographer at a hundred dollars an hour, there will always be someone who says yes.

But the real question is what you are not getting at that price. The backup gear. The experience. The editing hours. The person who has done this enough times to stay calm when everything goes sideways.

Be clear about what you want. Ask what is included. And know that the cost usually tells you something.

Hey Love, we LOVE elopements. We will shout that from every rooftop in Texas, Arkansas, and wherever you want to go. But we need to clear something up.

🚨Eloping does NOT mean discounts on your photographer's hourly rate! 🚨

Our time, gear, expertise, editing hours and data storage cost the same whether we are at a 2 person elopement or a 200+ person wedding. So our hourly rate stays the same.

For an elopement with a couple of people, 2 hours is often enough time. It is intimate, focused, and we can give you something really beautiful in that time.

For a wedding? 2 hours is not even close. There are too many moments, people and details that deserve to be captured in the 4+ hours planned for your ceremony and reception.

Hey Love, we are going to say something that might be a little controversial.

Digitalize your wedding invitations!

Couples are spending thousands of dollars on printed stationery that gets opened, read once, and recycled. That money could go toward your flowers, your food, your drinks, or the day of coordinator you actually need.

There’s an important exception: If your invitation is literally ART, print it!

We had a couple who hand drew and designed their invitations featuring iconic places from their relationship and their wedding. We have it on display!

But if it is just a card that tells people when and where to show up? Send a beautiful digital version and put that budget where it is going to show up in your photos and your peace.

Hey Love, our wedding was almost entirely DIY. For us, it was perfect, but…

DIY only works if the people around you are willing and able to step up. And it is completely okay if they are not! That’s what professionals are for.

The most intentional wedding is the one where everyone in the room, family included, actually gets to be present for it.

Hey Love, all inclusive wedding packages sound like a dream on paper.

One price. Everything handled. No vendor hunting. Done.

But here is what does NOT always make it into the brochure.

The vendors working those packages are often cycling through multiple weddings every single week. And listen, no shame to them. That is their business model and the feeling of specialness that your wedding deserves isn't the foundation.

The bigger issue? You usually have NO say in who those vendors are. 😳

The photographer included in your all inclusive package was not chosen because they are talented or because their style matches your vision.

They were chosen because they were available and affordable to the venue. That is it. And you have no say in that.

On top of that, a lot of those vendors are not actually employed by the venue. They are contracted. Which means the venue's responsibility for their work is limited, and your ability to vet them beforehand is too.

Your wedding day deserves vendors you actually chose. People whose work made you stop scrolling. People who get YOU and your love story.

Hey Love Studio is here for couples who want to be intentional about every single person in the room on their wedding day.

Hey Love, here is the simple version of something nobody really explains when you start planning an elopement.

Whether you need a permit, a reservation, or an appointment basically comes down to two things: how many people are coming and how disruptive you'll be.

A couple, an officiant, and a photographer showing up quietly to a public space on a weekday morning? Usually fine. A group of twenty people with a sound system and a floral arch in a state park? That is going to need some paperwork.

The good news is that truly intimate elopements are often the easiest and most affordable to pull off. And we mean that literally.

Take Kassidy and Darcy. They could have spent ten to twenty thousand dollars on an elopement. Instead they spent twenty dollars each to get into the Dallas Arboretum and about one hundred and fifty dollars for a photo pass. That is it.

That is the whole venue budget. And what they walked away with was a gorgeous, intentional, completely personal ceremony on some of the most beautiful grounds in Texas. (And we have a list of gorgeous Arkansas locations!)

This is what elopements can be when you stop trying to shrink a wedding and start building something that is actually yours.

Hey Love Studio is here for every couple who wants their elopement to feel like everything without costing everything.

Hey Love, elopements are not one size fits all and that is exactly what makes them so good.

There are really two ways to approach them.

The first is more structured. You pick a location, book it out, set a date and time, and have that space reserved just for you. Think a courthouse appointment, a venue hire, or a private spot that requires a permit. It takes more planning but it also means the space is entirely yours.

The second is a lot more off the cuff. You still choose a date, a time, and a location. You just do not necessarily have it reserved or set aside. A pull over on the side of the road. A public garden on a quiet Tuesday morning. A trail that happens to be empty when you arrive.

Same love. Same vows. Significantly less money spent on a venue.

Both are valid. Both are beautiful. And Hey Love Studio is here for whichever version feels most like you. 🩷

(Our sweet kitty, Jessie, did not move once during this entire recording. She is either very invested in elopement planning or very excited about being on camera!)
