📍Deception Pass State Park, Washington
Where engineering meets the wild beauty of the Pacific Northwest. 🌲🌊
The iconic Deception Pass Bridge rises above brilliant blue water, rocky shores, and evergreen-covered cliffs—one of those places that feels dramatic from every angle.
A few fun facts:
🌉 The landmark is actually two bridges, crossing Deception Pass and Canoe Pass with Pass Island between them.
📏 Together, the spans stretch 1,487 feet and sit roughly 180 feet above the water, depending on the tide.
🗓️ Construction began in 1934, and the bridge was dedicated on July 31, 1935.
🥾 Deception Pass State Park spans Whidbey and Fidalgo islands and offers 38 miles of trails through forests, dunes, rocky headlands, and lakes.
🌊 The narrow pass is famous for its powerful tidal currents—beautiful to watch, but demanding serious respect on the water.
Would you walk across the bridge or admire it safely from the beach? 📸
