Vulnerable Post ahead
One week from tomorrow I will be saying goodbye to my best friend of 14 years. He went deaf last year and now is starting to go blind, it’s causing him too much anxiety for medication to handle and he’s starting to have more bad days than good ones and Monday evening he gave me his sign that he’s ready.
I had Andrew call to make the appointment because I truly cannot speak about this out loud without becoming a puddle.
This dog has been through my most important phases of life. Getting married, getting divorced, finding the love of my life, getting remarried, having a baby, and all that came in between. He’s been the best sidekick on many adventures from cabin weekends to horse shows, lots of late barn nights and bonfires and plenty of road trips. He’s a good dog and a bad dog. IYKYK.
I had intended to bury him here at the farm but my sister Kaitlin asked me if I would be able to leave him behind if we ever decide to move or have to move, and I think the answer is no.
So here lies my vulnerability, I cannot afford to cremate him. If you know me well you know I lost half of my income this year when I lost half of my shows on my schedule, it’s taken a toll on me financially for sure so this expense is not one I have extra money laying around for. I do not expect handouts by any means but I would LOVE for yall to purchase weekend galleries for the following shows to help me offset this cost.
-Wisconsin NBHA finals
-NCSA finals in September
-Top Hand Cowgirl in October
If you’re interested in weekend packages for any of these shows please let me know and I am happy to help answer questions you may have.
In the meantime hug your pets. I’m spending lots of time giving my old man cuddles and some extra table scraps.
