I’ve been especially finding refuge in the innocence of my children lately. The way all the little simple things that we take for granted grab hold of their attention; the way their faces absolutely light up over the most seemingly small details of life.

Adele used to refer to each and every object as a “this”. What once served as an overgeneralization has since matured into a question… “thisss?” she now asks, as she inquisitively presents objects to me, holding them up by her little hand in the air.

As I meet her expectation with a definition for this strange object, be it a “ball”, a “brush”, or a “strawberry”, her nose crinkles, she scrunches her face up, and she reciprocates the cheesiest grin.

She reacts this emphatically every single time she discovers a new word for each object in question, and almost laughs at herself as she practices forming these new sounds.

Witnessing children’s innocence, through curious interactions with animals or just living in the moment with their sibling(s) and family, brings me such a sense of peace.

Our children have not yet learned how to overlook things that bring them joy. We should learn from these little humans to find and define whatever inspires meaning in our lives, in order to celebrate it with others.

I’m offering baby bunnies, chicks, and ducklings at Prospect Farms (one last time) *this Saturday*!

It is going to be such a beautiful setting with the vintage clotheslines billowing in the wind at golden hour, just before sunset.

It’s your family having fun and your child(ren) smiling over these furry and feathery creatures that comes together to create the real experience, though!

And as it turns out, I love taking photos of tiny animals almost as much as I love photographing tiny humans (ALMOST 🫣).

Combining the two is just a dream come true! ✨

I will still be offering my styling services as well as access to items from my Spring-oriented client “capsule wardrobe”.

The link to book or get more info is a quick click in my bio!

Looking so forward to capturing some family memories for you there!

Baby Aliya stole the show dressed up like a little “sweet pea” at her session this Saturday! Her cuteness is killing me. It’s safe to say that as fun as the bunnies were, having that tiny baby chick in her lap was her absolute favorite and immediately made her smile 🐣

And guess what?! I’m offering baby bunnies and chicks again this Saturday 🐰 Just envision vintage clotheslines billowing in the breeze at golden hour (just before sunset) with baby bunnies and chicks hopping around, and your family just focused on having fun! 🐥

Feel free to send me a message and the booking info and link are in my bio! I’m so looking forward to seeing you there!

Special thanks to for ensuring we had a pleasant experience & helping the little ones handle the animals 🐇

“Jesus’ name still on her tongue
Questions buried in her lungs:
Oh my Father, why my son?

On the borderlines, the borderlines...

Oh, how I long for heaven in a place called earth,
Where every son and daughter will know their worth,
Where all the streets resound with thunderous joy,
Oh, how I long for heaven in a place called earth...”

This beautiful song was playing on repeat in my head while I edited this photograph I took of .creek.farm’s baby lamb named “Willa Rose” for Easter photo sessions this season. It is one of my top favorite songs and was written by a few of my most favorite artists together.

The deeper meaning of Easter sank in for me, that Jesus, the lamb of God, died for you and me.

I believe in a Creator who loves you so unconditionally that He gave His only son to die for you, so that you may share everlasting life with Him in heaven. (John 3:16)

No matter our differences, He loves you and He loves me. And, I believe, that we are called to love each other no matter our differences. I love you out of the love He has given me.

As we approach Spring, I hope you are starting to see the sun shine a little brighter through whatever darkness you may have been walking through this season.

For me, personally, I’ve been walking through the darkness of grief after suddenly losing the woman who helped raise me. She was my go-to, my confidant, and my comforter.

But there is beauty to be found even in the darkness. She got to meet and spend 8 months with her great-grand-daughter, Adele, who I named after her. They got to say more than one beautiful goodbye, and so did I.

While I will always wish we had made even more memories together while she was still here on earth, and while I know I will always grieve that more time might have been had (she was 79 years and young-at-heart), I understand that’s not the design, that heaven is the plan.

For so many reasons that go far in number beyond grief alone, I long for heaven in a place called earth. Where every son and daughter will know their worth. Where all the streets resound with thunderous joy...

I love photographs with an air of nostalgia. What better complement to an enchanting old piano than film grain in black & white?

Had to share this detail shot I took of Sara playing the piano’s aged keys during her maternity session.

I strive to capture your *authentic* motherhood story, so I cannot wait to share the reason behind why we envisioned her session with this antique piano!

Photographing children in their natural element brings me sooo much joy…

Whether it’s freezing a fleeting moment in time when they are always so quick & on the run, or preserving a portrait of their ever changing and maturing faces, I’m here for it!

I have worked with and cared for children in many different capacities for around two decades already now 😲

I honestly can’t imagine myself EVER exclusively working in an environment that doesn’t involve interacting with children.

From chasing my younger sibling & cousins around with my film camera when I was a child, to working as a nanny, lifeguard, and swim instructor as a teenager, to studying family therapy for grad school, I guess it comes as no surprise I could easily see myself specializing in capturing childhood behind my lens.

When I accept your invitation to document your family I am truly honored. I am entering a sacred space between my viewfinder & your laughing faces, one where we commune as friends and create memories for your family to forever look back on.

Let’s go run through a field full of flowers, feed some cows, or think up something that your children will find fun & will actually remember!

I want your photo session to be authentic to you and a memorable experience for all ages involved.

What that entails won’t look the same for every family, nor will my photos look “cookie cutter” across every session.

That’s what makes me different. I pay attention to what makes YOU different!

My appreciation for what makes your family special is that secret sauce that ensures your photos will feel magical!

Inquire or book now via the link in my bio or feel free to shoot me a message to ask any questions you may have.

I look forward to capturing the whimsy of childhood with you! 💫

This morning we woke up to the sound of chainsaws immediately outside of our bedroom window. I had just spent over an hour trying to get my baby back to sleep, for the third time in a row. She had finally fallen back asleep, so I mentally blocked out the sound as best I could in the hopes of falling back asleep myself.

Eventually, I gave up and got up to see what was causing all the ruckus. I opened the blinds… and burst into tears. I ran outside. It was gone.

The flowing branches of pink blossoms that used to hover over our deck creating a canopy of shade and privacy.

My nature oasis while I breastfed both my babies in the fresh air.

The beautiful view of greenery & flowers in the spring & summer, or autumnal leaves in the fall, from our bedroom.

It may not sound so tragic, but hummingbirds were attracted to the nectar & would fly up to us to say hello. Red cardinals would perch there, watching us through the window. The red cardinal reminds me of my grandmother (she had them as decorations all over her house).

My son is in love with birds. “Birdy” was one of his very first words. His eyes would light up with magical splendor as his little friends would sing.

The pandemic was in full force as he recovered from his open heart surgeries. We quarantined, so aside from neighborhood strolls outside, sometimes sitting under her was our “outing” of the day.

The tree just held a lot of memories with my son, as well as my baby girl. To see her dismembered and stripped bare just hit a sensitive, emotional, nerve.

I wish we had made less excuses and gone out to enjoy her shade more often. Ignored the humidity, ignored the pollen, ignored the dirt getting on the bottoms of our bare feet. And appreciated her beauty.

I wish I had taken pictures of the birds as they played and my son’s excitement as he joyously pointed them out to me.

Maybe I’ll get bird feeders for the railing to recreate the magic. It won’t be the same, but it will be making lemonade.

I think the morale of my story is to stop making excuses & slow down to soak up the little things before they’re gone.

Like those ooey gooey hugs from our children, before they’re unexpectedly gone too🥲

My sweet boy has been putting my childhood babydoll, Rosy, to sleep in our baby swing 🥹

I brought Rosy home from my parents’ house to help Dawson understand there was a baby coming soon, and how to be gentle with her.

When Adele’s not in our baby swing, he will gently lay Rosy in it, and come tell me “Shhh… baby’s sleeping” 😴

Sometimes I find the baby tucked under a little blanket too.

Our children are little sponges, always watching us and learning how to live life from us.

It’s been so sweet to watch Dawson learn to be a big brother, but when he takes care of Rosy in the way I take care of Adele, he is practicing how to be a good daddy one day himself, and that just pulls at my heart strings the most ❤️

I took this photograph of my little angel while he was peacefully sleeping during an evening nap.

I want to remember those gorgeous eyelashes of his forever 🥺
