✨ A little Shelby Collins Photography LLC update ✨

Behind the scenes, I have been working on a huge rebrand for my business! This means updating my website, refining my client experience and communication, revising my contracts, and introducing updated pricing and packages.

Over this past year, I have learned so much about myself as a photographer and the type of stories I feel most passionate about capturing. As I continue to grow, I have really narrowed down my niche to couples, seniors, and weddings—the moments filled with love, connection, and huge life milestones.

Now, before anyone panics 😅, this does not mean I am saying goodbye to family sessions, little milestone sessions, birthday photos, or individual portraits. I truly love getting to capture your families growing and your little ones reaching those special milestones. However, these sessions will no longer be listed on my standard price guide as I work toward building a more focused brand within my specialty.

If you are interested in a family session, milestone session, or something outside of my listed packages, please never hesitate to reach out! I will still be offering these sessions on a limited basis and would love to create a custom quote tailored to your vision.

With all of these exciting changes, I also want to make a quick announcement to my remaining 2026 brides and my incredible 2027 brides who are already booked with me. 🤍 You will be receiving an updated contract in the coming months. I know you have already signed your original contracts, and I appreciate your understanding as I update my agreements to better protect both myself and my clients while continuing to provide the best experience possible.

I also want to take a moment to share something that is incredibly important to me as an artist and business owner. Photography is so much more than simply owning a camera and taking a picture. Every image you receive is the result of years of learning, investment, creativity, and a unique artistic vision.

Because of this, I kindly ask that my work is always shared in the way it was delivered. Please do not apply filters, use AI to alter images, remove elements from photos, heavily crop them, or make edits that change the artistic integrity of my work. Additionally, photographs shared on my website, page, or Instagram are protected artwork and should not be downloaded, reposted, or used for personal pages, portfolios, or other purposes without my permission.

This past year has taught me so much—not only about photography, but also about the importance of valuing my art, setting healthy boundaries, and running a business that I am proud of. These changes are not coming from a place of restriction, but from a place of growth.

I am beyond excited for this next chapter of Shelby Collins Photography! I have so many amazing couples, seniors, and brides I get to work with this year, and I cannot wait to continue capturing your biggest moments. I’ll be signed out and spending some much needed time with family this weekend. My husband and I are heading out of town today for a concert, and tomorrow we’ll be celebrating my brother’s graduation! 🎓✨

✨ SUMMER MODEL CALLS — PLEASE SHARE!✨

Lately, I’ve been feeling a little stuck in a creative slump, and if I’m being honest, I’ve really been missing that spark that comes from creating something just for the fun of it. So I’ve decided to step outside my comfort zone, get inspired again, and bring a few creative session ideas to life, and I am SO excited about them!

For high school sweethearts who have stood the test of time. Whether you’ve been together for 5 years or 15, this session is all about celebrating the love story that started young and continues to grow.

**I already have one amazing couple lined up for this concept, but I’d absolutely love to do two of these sessions if I find another couple who fits the vision!**

⛳ Love on the Fairway
Calling all golf lovers! Think sunset tee times, golf carts, playful competition, and country club romance. Whether you’re seasoned golfers or just love a fun date night on the course, this one is going to be so much fun.

☀️ The Summer We Stayed Out Late
Inspired by nostalgic summer nights that feel straight out of a movie. Think lake days, dock jumps, card games, watermelon, soda bottles, sunset swims, disposable cameras, and all those carefree summer memories you never want to forget.

🎓 2027 Senior Parents!! 🎓

I know this is probably one of the last things on your mind right now, and it may feel way too early to be thinking about cap and gown photos—but I wanted to put this out there because I already have several 2027 seniors on my books for next spring!

Most seniors from the surrounding schools in our area typically receive their cap and gowns by the end of March or early April, so I love scheduling cap and gown sessions anywhere from the beginning of April through the second week of May. Those dates fill up quickly!

This year, my April and May calendar filled completely, and I had so many inquiries once those months were already booked. I never want anyone to miss out on capturing such a special milestone, so if you know you’ll be wanting cap and gown photos, please reach out now to reserve your spot.

The best part? If something changes between now and then, we can absolutely reschedule. Once you’re on my books, your spot is guaranteed—even if we need to move your session date around.

However, once April and May are fully booked, I simply won’t have room to squeeze in additional sessions.

Senior year flies by faster than you think, and I’d love to help capture these memories before they’re gone. ❤️

Fair warning: this is a long one.. but it’s something that’s been weighing on my heart, and if you have a few minutes to read it, it would mean a lot to me🫶🏼

One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned as a small business owner is that having a kind heart and setting healthy boundaries can exist at the same time.

Truthfully, I never imagined I would make a post like this. But after seeing another small business owner share an experience similar to one I recently faced, it reminded me that it’s okay to talk about the realities of running a business. It’s okay to acknowledge difficult moments while still choosing kindness.

This past week challenged me in ways I wasn’t expecting. It brought moments of self-doubt and made me question myself more than I have in a long time. As someone who pours so much of my heart into my work, those feelings were difficult to navigate.

Photography has always been more than a business to me. It’s been a creative outlet, a passion, and a way to connect with incredible people during some of the most meaningful moments of their lives. For a little while, the weight of this week made me lose sight of that.

But after taking time to reflect, I realized that one difficult experience should never outweigh the countless positive ones. It should never have the power to take away something I love so deeply or diminish the support, encouragement, and trust I have received from so many wonderful people.

I’m also learning that boundaries are not unkind. Boundaries allow us to continue showing up as our best selves, both personally and professionally. They help protect the passion, creativity, and care that we pour into our work every day.

Behind every small business is a real person. Someone with feelings, responsibilities, relationships, struggles, and dreams outside of what is shared online. The truth is, life is hard for everyone right now in one way or another. Every person you meet is carrying something you may know nothing about. Because of that, I think it’s so important that we lead with kindness whenever possible. We never truly know what someone is facing behind closed doors, and a little compassion can make more of a difference than we realize.

As creatives, our work is deeply personal. It reflects our time, effort, vision, and heart. Because of that, I believe professionalism and mutual respect should always exist on both sides.

I have no interest in fueling negativity, conflict, or public drama. That is not who I am, and it is not what I want my business to represent. However, I also believe it is important to recognize that respect and professional boundaries matter. They are not only important for businesses to thrive, but also for the people behind them.

One thing I hope every client who has ever stepped in front of my camera knows is that my goal has always been to help you see the best version of yourself. I want you to feel confident, beautiful, valued, and celebrated. And if you’ve ever booked a session with me, please know that you have never been “just a client” to me. You become someone I cheer for, pray for, celebrate with, and genuinely care about long after our session is over. To me, you’re a friend.

I always hope to be someone who uplifts others, encourages them through hard seasons, and reminds them of their worth when they need it most. And honestly, that is exactly what so many of you have done for me this past year.

When I was struggling this week, so many of you showed up with kind messages, encouragement, prayers, support, and reminders of why I started this journey in the first place. I don’t know if I’ll ever be able to fully express how much that meant to me.

So more than anything, this post is simply a thank you.

Thank you for supporting my business. Thank you for trusting me with your memories. Thank you for encouraging me when I needed it most. And thank you for reminding me that there is far more kindness in this world than negativity.

Your support means more than you know, and I look forward to continuing to do what I love and serving such an incredible community for years to come.
