Hey everyone, I know I’ve neglected this page a bit… not too many orders with the economy being absolute dogsh*t; especially just before the holiday season. But that said I’m going to be a bit more proactive, and I’m to open up to working photo shoots… ideally portraits and growing from there.

Soon I’ll post some concert photos of Emperor official after being with those badass homies on the mini-tour they had this past May, plus some of the recent NIN tour.

That said I’m crossing my fingers thay I’ll be doing a few tours & stops after the new year with GAEREA thanks to my amazing friend Giulia Wyrd-Svartskog, the Belphegor tour in in late February-Early March, INFERNO METAL FESTIVAL NORWAY the first week of April, and the Emperor tour late April-May. Not to mention being back in Bergen working Beyond the Gates after some time away from amazing folks like Cathrine Langfjell Torsvik & Torgrim, plus close friend Tom Eddie Borge.

Here’s a little Taste…

Nestled just above 12,155 feet,
High up in the Sawatch Range of central Colorado… there’s an amazing spot just off the main trail at the summit of Independence Pass hiking to Mt Ouray.

An absolutely amazing place; within the heart of the Sawatch Range, is a spot that opens up to a view of stupefying natural beauty for Astrophotography. In a lower class 2 Dark Sky with a ratio of 0.0305(that’s a good ratio), Thus allowing for amazing single exposure shots of the a Milky Way, ones that yield great structure and depth. The red/pink hues exuding from dozens of nebula, the expanse of gases that seem endless, and even vast sections of “void areas.” It’s breathtaking and inspires an almost insatiable & innate thirst for knowledge & adventure. A proverbial fire for knowledge and understanding of the billions of wondrous stars and galaxies that surround us.

Never take the beauty of nature for granted, for one day soon it could all be gone. While we’re left with nothing but memories and photos from the past.

I have a lot to say on this particular church and the infamous events that it became witness and victim to. But I’ll let the raw beauty & inner-darkness of the photo itself do that for me; this time.

Also a massive shoutout to my dudes at for keeping me warm and hydrated with many a beers safely stashed in my heavy duty denim demon jacket! I highly suggest you all check out their awesome line of gear, exceptionally durable and tough as nails!

The temperate outside was -19F, and that’s not including the wind chill. It’s interesting to see the light pollution from Gunnison colliding with the mass of attic air, thus creating such a unique color to the airglow boundary that’s so defined. The only part that annoys me about this photo is the little extra bit of noise, and grain.

If you look closely you can see atleast 7 meteorites in this single 15s exposure. The pure joy of being in a very secluded Bortle class 2 Sky makes a massive difference on what’s visible. The how clear the the sky was above any light pollution, those arctic temperatures can be helpful, but you’ll need a good lens warmer for any time lapse or star tracking(that’s if the tracker can handle -20F) a whopping 52 degrees below freezing.

The physics at play here is amazing, but quite complicated due to so many variables needing to be precise. The simple fact of what can still surprise me

I hope you’ll now get lost within the photo itself, taking in all the little details of gases, nebula, super clusters, and more epic galaxies than you’d ever think.

**** And as usual all photos are available in various media, finish, and very many sizes! Send any question or or order inquires to [email protected], don’t hesitate to reach out!

Tómur, dimmur og kaldur minnisvarði um hrunandi trúarlegt vald sem lúterska kirkjan hafði áður á Íslandi.

The mood created by the winter storm moving in lays it out! An empty, dark, and cold monument of the crumbling religious grip the Lutheran church once had on Iceland.

Albeit a beautiful little church, in such a sparsely populated area of Snæfellsnes Peninsula.

As usual, you can email Myrkurphotography@ gmail.com for all custom prints to fotnyout needs.

A rare moment of serene calm in the air, in between the constant cycles of winter storms in Vestfirðir, the western fjords of Iceland.

The Nordlys decided to treat my patience to a beautiful show. Even after dealing with the brutal wind and cold atop Dynjandisheiði near the famous waterfall. Even the full moon couldn’t come close to ruining the beautiful show that unfolded above!

Losing yourself in the heart of the Rocky Mountains, the brilliant silence of mother nature, invigorating and healing for the mind. A stoic sense of calming, with nothing but the gentle breeze swirling above, and the distant grunting of grazing Elk from the meadow below.

Within 30 miles of this location, there are more than a dozen ghost towns, and almost more closed mines than they can keep count of.

Old Monarch Pass is a sometimes often overlooked dusty dirt road, it’s only open part of the year… but as you can see, amazing views are only one small piece of the awesomeness puzzle that is the Pass, and associated Road 237.

Looking North, Mt Aetna, Taylor Peak, with Mt Shavano & Tabeguache Peak leading into the distance of the Collegiate Peaks. A vast majority of which are 14ers, mountains greater than 14,000ft(4315meters) in elevation.

It’s not even proper Milky Way Season, but even the back end of our local galactic band, within the Galaxy itself is filled exponentially astonishing beauty.

You can even see NGC1569 aka the irregular Galaxy, which is essentially a dwarf galaxy with a strange shape. Perseus also come out quite dynamically too. Even Uranus is shinning bright 😉!

Yet for me, Andromeda being so simply defined; just steals the proverbial shot. I never tire of that
astonishing sight during nearly every Astrophoto session I go on.

Custom prints available, email [email protected] for all inquiries.

Plus don’t forget to look up, and briefly lose yourself staring at the stars. The perspective it gives you, is not only grounding, but very humbling.
