I took this photo 2 years ago down at El Porto. I saw this brotha coming out of the water and thought to myself "Let me photograph him because its not everyday that you see black surfers" What I didn't see was that he had been through the ringer trying to get back to shore. So when he reached his destination he was exhausted and so I snapped this image. When I posted it on instagram I captioned it "Sometimes life is gonna knock you down. The key is getting back up and fighting harder!"

This week we have not one but two photos that I liked from photographer Shalamah Tautaiolefue. He recently went on a safari in Namibia, Africa with a group of 8 other creatives! He is usually a portrait and lifestyle photographer but took a shoot at wildlife photography and he loved it.
Going on a safari in Africa to photograph wildlife is on my bucket list, so when I came across Shalamah's images it made me want to book a 26 hour flight over there and snap away. I think Shalamah really captured these amazing animals beautifully in their natural environment. You can see more images from his trip on his instagram (linked below). These were just two of my personal favorites. GREAT JOB on capturing the moments with these images brotha!

TIP TUESDAY!

STOP THROUGH SOMETHING!

Meaning put something in front of your lens while shooting your subject. By doing this you will get a nice bokeh and out of focus elements in your photo. By doing this you add awesome character to an otherwise basic image. You can use things like your hands, prism, flowers, plants or physical objects.

I think this is a cool idea but I'm sure if it will be an effective tool to edit your photos. Thats just my opinion. What do you guys think?
