Been playing with cyanotypes a lot lately, many more to show later, but I wanted to share this morning’s work as I prepare to leave for Oregon Country Fair. I made this piece honoring my aunt Joan and her dear old Fair family friend Greg, both of whom passed this winter and are dearly missed. I will be presenting it to Greg’s family as a token of remembrance for our shared losses.

Cyanotype prints have been an absolutely magical new medium to play with, and I look forward to making and sharing more with you all.

Last week, inspired by the portrait work of my friend using chiaroscuro (Italian: "light-dark"), I decided to experiment with some off-camera flash techniques to try and create that signature high contrast look.

For lack of a more photogenic model, you get my pensive mug! 😂

Looking forward to experimenting more in the vast realm of modified light and studio work.
