Every moment is worth capturing at the right angle. When I first picked up a camera, my purpose was to memorialize each moment—to remember what it felt like, how it looked, and maybe retain just enough of the memory that I could be transported to that place. Just one more time. When I gave birth to my son in 2024, my mom was my photographer, navigating the room with her phone while I tried to find
my breath buried somewhere in my lungs. Every moment was painful, and more than anything, I wanted it to be over. Then it was, and while I tried to embrace every millisecond, it was gone so quickly. My son’s pinched face filled out by the next morning. His too-big, too-wrinkly hands were full of life and already touched by the world. My first nursing session was now my fourth, or fifth. So many firsts were here and gone in a flash, and while I treasured the next moments that followed, I couldn’t get back those first few. But I had photos that reminded me of the hours of work that had brought Rowan to me and my husband. I had captured moments that showed me what else was happening in that room when my eyes were shut and I couldn’t bear to open them. My husband’s tired but proud smile, his eyes full of love, my hopelessly relieved self holding my firstborn son against my chest. I can go back (but without the pain) and never let go of that first day. Those are moments every mother deserves to cherish, whether it’s their first or eighth baby. Nothing can compare to those hours (or minutes) of labor. It’s both exhausting and amazing, a marathon with a finish line that fills your heart with an immeasurable love and sense of accomplishment. It’s my goal to show you those moments and give you a priceless keepsake. I am a storyteller, living a life rich with love in Corpus Christi, TX, with my husband, our young son, and a menagerie of beloved pets. While I spend most of my time as a stay-at-home mom and freelance book editor, the art of photography has been the unwavering thread weaving through every chapter of my life. It began with a yearbook camera in middle school and was refined in the world of photojournalism, where I learned to tell a story in a few frames. When life kept me busy, I had to set my camera aside. But with the birth of my son, my passion was reborn. He was my inspiration, and his birth drew out my mission: to capture the powerful, intimate narratives to hold and treasure forever. Every story deserves to be told. Let me tell yours.
