We adopted Daffy over two years ago. When we adopted her, she was heartworm positive. We have been treating her with what is called a slow kill process. It is usually better within 6 months, but our girl just can't kick them. She has been huffing a struggling a bit on our walks. I took her into the vet, and upon x-rays they found she is suffering lung damage due to the heartworms. In ten days, we are starting the fast kill method. It will be very hard on her physically and it is quite dangerous. Also, even though they call it fast kill, it will actually take a couple of months. I decided that Daffy needed a photoshoot before she started treatment.

While she’s receiving treatment, we need to keep her activity and excitement level extremely low. If you are one of Daffy‘s people and you would like to visit her before she starts treatment, please shoot me a message.

Daffy had her own special photoshoot tonight. I couldn’t have asked for a better evening. Thank you to A Better Day Flower Farm for having us. I can’t wait to share the photos.
