A wedding ceremony is the heart of the day, but it’s not the whole story.

For Emily McKee Shackleford and Adam Shackleford , there were vows to exchange, a marriage to celebrate, and a room full of people ready to celebrate right alongside them. From the first kiss to the first dance, the rd speeches to the packed dance floor, it’s all part of the story.

And years from now, you might be just as grateful to revisit the moments surrounding the ceremony as you are to hear those vows again.

Not every beautiful thing has to be dramatic.

Sometimes it’s a field of people you love.
Kids dancing on the floor.
Friends laughing at the swings.
Toasting to your future.
Walking back down the aisle together.
Nothing complicated. Nothing to prove.
Just two people getting married and the people they love being there to celebrate it.

And honestly, there’s something pretty beautiful about that.

Somehow, a wedding day holds both the life you’ve already lived together and the life you’re just beginning.

For Abby and Cameron, it was 2.5 years of growing in love, one last night before becoming husband and wife, and then the moment they finally got to step into everything they’d been waiting for. -> “Because you’re everything I’ve dreamed of in a wife.”

This is why we do this.

Not everything has to be a big moment.

Some of our favorite parts of a wedding are the things that weren’t really “events” at all. The conversations. The nervous laughs. The little glances. The people in the background. The five minutes before the ceremony when nobody is quite sure what to do with themselves. Those little pieces are part of the story, too.

And years from now, they might be the pieces you’re most grateful you kept.

You probably won’t remember who sat where.
But you’ll remember the way your dad looked at you.
The way she laughed during the vows.
The sound of your friends on the dance floor.
The little things you didn’t know you’d miss.
That’s what we’re trying to preserve.

As we’ve been rethinking our wedding offerings, one thing has stayed at the center: your wedding film should feel like you. Not every couple wants the same amount of coverage. Not every wedding day looks the same. We want it to be easier to choose the kind of storytelling that fits your day, your priorities, and your budget.

That’s why we’ve created more intentional options, including a ceremony-only package for couples who simply want to preserve the words, promises, and people at the heart of their day.

We’re really excited about this new direction: more flexibility, more simplicity, and still the honest, meaningful films we love making. If you’re planning a wedding and want to talk through what might fit best, we’d love to hear from you.

It’s been a little while since we’ve introduced ourselves around here.

This last year have been full in ways we didn’t quite expect...both personally and behind the scenes at Abundant Films. We’ve been spending a lot of time caring for foster babies, soaking up the everyday moments, and quietly rethinking what we want this business to look and feel like in this season. At the heart of it, we’re still us: Joe & Callie. We believe the best films aren’t about perfect performances. They’re about real people, meaningful connection, and preserving the moments that move too quickly.

We’ve also been reshaping our offerings and pricing to make working with us feel more simple, intentional, and personal. This has even led us to offer low-cost options like our ceremony only package!

We’re excited about what’s ahead and about the stories we’ll get to be part of next. If you have something worth remembering, we’d love to hear about it.

A peaceful morning wedding. A beautiful couple. And then… the bottom dropped out of the sky.

Allie Rivers Caperton & .caperton.75 ’s ceremony continued through a pouring rainstorm at Old Waverly and somehow, it made the whole thing even more beautiful. Their wedding was intimate, joyful, and completely centered on the two of them. By lunchtime, they were married and headed off to their honeymoon. Honestly, it was perfect.

We've been a little quiet this summer—but we've definitely been busy.

This June wedding reminded us why we love what we do. Just as Allie Rivers Caperton and David 's ceremony began, the skies opened up. Instead of stealing the moment, the rain somehow made it even more beautiful. Peaceful. Romantic. Unforgettable.
