My social media presence has been a little chaotic over the last year. Mostly from life life-ing, but in lot of ways I just wasn’t feeling as inspired.
Photography has always grounded me. It’s where I can get creative and I feel most comfortable, but it started feeling more like a job. I started shooting for what sells and what does well with the algorithm, rather than what I like and there was less expression in that.
I started wanting to go the beach to simply enjoy it. I found myself waking up early for sunrise and having to choose between my camera or surfboard and at every chance I was choosing the board.
I want to share the place I love while also enjoying the place I love and I’m still trying to find that balance. But in taking some time away, I’m starting to feel less pressure from social media and I’m excited to get back to exploring this art form in a way that brings me joy.
Sorry for the long rant…just trying to show up in new ways.
