Ready for a 9 hour boat ride up the Sangha River deep into Northern Congo. In a "piroq," basically a big canoe dug out of a large tree trunk. After 24 hours of flying and a 12 hour drive north.

This was Roz Carr's cat Sazzy, still living after Roz's death in 2006. She is just as warm and inviting as Roz was, running out of the house and through the front gardens to greet new visitors.

Imbabazi Orphanage. After the Genocide in 1994, Roz returned at age 82 to convert her flower fame into an orphanage, giving refuge to some 400 children who lost their parents. 135 of them made the "Imbabazi Irphanage" their permanent and Roz raised them like a mother and fully educated them.
