Celebrating love and romance today for this body of mine that has changed and grown for our sweet baby. And of course, my sweet husband, the father of my child, my best friend, and life partner. I love you, Michael Allen! Here's to adding a new leaf to our story. 🌱💌

Throwback to California this October with Victoria + Michael!

There's something so special about an intimate backyard wedding reception. Intentional and cozy. Don't get me wrong - I LOVE a traditional wedding! My husband and I did the same thing. A huge celebration with everyone that makes you happy! But the comfort of being with truy your CLOSEST support system is so special. It feels extra safe, relaxing, and peaceful.

It's been a minute, but I'm still here (and still pregnant in case you're curious)! Going through some of my work, wrapping up final galleries, finishing up custom flashdrives and albums, and finally finishing up styled shoot/portfolio content for the year, all while trying to prep our home and our hearts for baby boy! 🦋✨

Reminiscing on this September day with Payton + Renz. The light felt so dreamy, glimmering on the walls of this brick home with the greenery wrapped around the pergola. Payton glowed like a fairy princess in the spotlight right before we started bridesmaid pictures! I also couldn't help but snap a detail of the floral lace detailing right next to Mother Nature herself. 🌱

Lots of slowing down the past year as I prepare for motherhood in just a few short weeks. It's been fun reflecting on how slowing down in my personal life also reflects on my business! Being intentional, noticing what feels connected in the moment, not because it's on a Pinterest board, but because the whole point is to be present and mindful. More of slowing down in 2026. Less production. More presence. Presence over perfection.

I can't wait for what is in store this year! Taking on way fewer weddings so that I can soak up time with our little guy when he makes his arrival, and so that I can be intentional with each of my wonderful clients, creating something together that feels connected to their individual authenticity. I'm only taking on two weddings per month and four sessions per month! Once those availability slots are full or dates are taken, they're gone. The most whimsical outdoor Ohio summer wedding from last year, second shooting for my sweet friend . ❤️

When I tell you, Mikayla and I STILL talk about A + S's wedding as if it were yesterday. A day where it was truly about being present with their people, and capturing real and authentic moments.

I know a lot of times it’s easy to look to your wedding photographers to help you run your day (P.S. hiring a planner is super helpful, so you don’t have to focus on those details), but take a step back!

You’re getting MARRIED! This day, as much as it feels like it is, is not about the decorations. It’s not about your wedding photos. It’s not about the perfect dress. There is NOTHING wrong with those things. They create the vibe. They create the atmosphere, which is important for such a special moment!

BUT PLEASE HEAR THIS! The vibe only starts and ends there if you aren’t present. Your main focus on your wedding day should be soaking it all in. Being present. Take a moment to celebrate the love that you and your partner share. The ups, the downs, the people who have encouraged you and lifted you up, the journey your story has been through, and where this next step is going to take you!

So honored to have been able to capture special moments with one of my favorite people.

I have SO much posting to catch up on! Fun fact, this post has been sitting in the IG drafts for months just WAITING to hit your screen (enter the paralysis I talked about in my last post). I have so much to share. So many amazing 2024 + 2025 clients, which always gets me SO dang excited for the next year. I absolutely am still booking for 2026, and I can’t wait to capture your real moments!

It takes practice to take a step back and see the bigger picture. (Still learning! Shout out to my therapist hehe)

Sometimes you step back and you realize you were drowning... But then you step back just a little further and realize you actually stayed above water the whole time, and you survived!

I’m one who struggles with transitions and changes. I like to think I love a refresh - which I do. But I also hate letting things go, I struggle with grieving what has changed, and I sometimes get paralyzed trying to figure out how to navigate something new.

If you missed it, I’m pregnant! We also moved and bought a house over the summer. We (really just Michael) have completely demolished and are renovating our kitchen (turns out it takes much longer than you think it does). We’re also just still very much newlyweds, trying to navigate how to live life together! On top of going through a lot of mental shifts as we look towards a new season of raising a baby together. Don’t even get me started on the first trimester trenches.

It’s honestly felt like a lot. And I tried to convince myself it wasn’t for a long time. Just a few days ago, I realized how much I’ve felt like I’ve been drowning. Feeling helpless. Feeling like I’ve dropped the ball on so many things.

But then I took a step back further. And I recognized every day that I woke up and I survived the day. Each day that I took care of myself. Each day that I showed up to work + gave it 110% of what I was able to give. Each day that I made myself food (really a struggle when you don’t have an oven, a sink, a dishwasher, a microwave, and are dealing with food aversions). Each day that when I couldn’t do the things I wanted to do, I still showed up and took care of myself in the way that I knew best and to the best of my ability, allowing myself to feel all the feelings of these massive life transitions.

All that to say, I’m proud of myself for staying above water. And I’m still here. I still care. I’m still so thankful for this space and this community. I’m thankful for this little part of my life, and I’m still here to capture your memories + serve you. Thank you for being here. ❤️

Our little silly goose is on the way! In case you’re wondering where I’ve been 🤭✨I’ve got a new second shooter joining the fam (hahah jokes).

Feeling so incredibly thankful for my wonderful clients who were patient with me through my struggle of a first trimester, and who continuously offer me grace as I’ve caught back up. Only 3 more weddings until we get to meet our sweet baby! 💙🥹

We’ve been on a lot of adventures together but I think this one will be my favorite! We are so excited (and a little terrified?!? but know we have so much support surrounding us as we learn how to do this next chapter of life together).

Now, back to editing. (and growing this sweet child of mine) ✨💛

Trust me, I know we would all probably rather be in Italy, but boy, does make it feel like a destination getaway right in central Ohio!

I can't wait to be back here a couple times this year for a styled shoot with and associate shooting for !! 💛📸

Do you REALLY need an engagement session (or any professional photos for that matter)? Let's talk about it!

First off -- no! 😳 You don't actually. (HUH?!) It's not a need. It never has been. Professional photography in and of itself is a luxury. It's a want. Just because you don't have photos doesn't mean it didn't happen.

So why the heck should you get pictures taken? Don't worry, I'll tell you! And if you're reading this and you're like, "meh, these things don't really matter to me", then let me give you permission to do what is best for YOU always. 🩷

Here are some things to consider when you're thinking about a potential engagement session!

1️⃣ Engagement sessions give you high-quality photos of your authentic selves, capturing your unique love. This speaks for itself! Whether you want to print your photos around your home or use them for your save the dates, iPhone-quality photos only go so far. 😮‍💨

2️⃣ Your session will allow you to get the nervous jitters out before your wedding day. So many times I've heard couples say, "We want gorgeous photos, but we feel awkward in front of the camera". Engagement sessions give you a chance to experience your special moments being captured beforehand so you know what to expect and can feel more present on your wedding day! 💅🏽

3️⃣ Enjoy quality time together at your engagement session. So often, wedding planning can feel stressful and overwhelming -- especially if you don't have a wedding planner, and get overwhelmed by lots of small details. Your 1-2 hour session can feel like a fun date together where you spend quality time together, enjoying each other's company, and living in the present. (& you get cute pics out of it!? sign me up!) 🥹
