Traditional gardens in Japan = āIkeiā - an intense kind of awe thatās impossible to put into words (but Iāll try šā¦)
Wandering through a landscape that feels completely natural, but has A LOT of secret intention behind it.
I love that the gardens donāt try to force nature into perfect geometric shapes. The paths, the trees, the rocks - theyāre all laid out to guide you peacefully through. It just flows. Every time you turn a corner, the view changes.
I kept wanting to stop longer - by the water, watching reflections shift and disappear before repeating. The light, the colors, the shapes of the branches - nothing stayed still.
It left with me a deep respect, the Japanese call it - ikei.
