I’ve been a little quiet over here lately, but Jenn’s Lens is very much alive. 📷

I’ve been spending some time behind the scenes working on the website, putting together a new headshot setup/home studio, and figuring out where I want to take this little business next.

Sometimes creating means taking pictures. Sometimes it means building the things that make taking pictures possible.

More to come. 💕

There are times in life when we often ask...why?

But I’ve learned that sometimes the better question is…why not?

“Why?” can give us a thousand reasons to stay exactly where we are.
“Why not?” opens the door to possibilities we may not even be able to imagine yet.

Four years ago today, I wanted to photograph the moon.

I didn’t have a professional camera. I didn’t have an expensive lens. I had an iPhone, a $50 spotting scope, a cheap phone adapter from Amazon, and a tripod that I somehow managed to strategically balance on my car. 🫣😂

And I thought… why not?

Those first two photos are what I came home with that night. They were noisy. They weren’t technically perfect. And I was absolutely THRILLED with them. At that moment, they were some of the best photographs I had ever taken, and I couldn’t wait to share them.

The other photos are some of my more recent shots of the moon.

Four years ago, I had absolutely no idea that someday I would own professional photography equipment, start my own photography business, or become a Getty Images contributor.

But here I am.

And those old photographs don’t embarrass me. At all...I’m proud of them. They remind me that we all start somewhere. They show me how much I’ve learned, how much my eye has developed, and how much I’ve grown.

Sometimes you don’t need to know where something is going to lead.

You don’t need the best equipment.
You don’t need to have everything figured out.
You don’t even need to know what the end goal is.

Sometimes you just need to look at something you want to try and ask yourself:

Why not?

Because you never know where that question might take you. ❤️📸

Quiet doesn’t mean still.

I haven’t been sharing as much here lately, but there’s been a whole lot happening behind the scenes at Jenn’s Lens 📸

I’ve been spending time building out the website, refining products and pricing, preparing new offerings, and working through all those little details that turn an idea into something real.

Not every part of building a photography business makes for a beautiful Facebook post. Sometimes progress looks like photographs and adventures. Other times it looks like notebooks, pricing sheets, website menus, crossed-out ideas, and figuring things out as I go. 😉

And honestly, I’m enjoying all of it—the creative side and the building side.

There are new photographs to make, new places to explore (my fall adventure will be EPIC), and some ideas I’m really excited to bring to life.

A lot is taking shape behind the scenes, and I’m excited for what’s ahead. 💕

More to come, and as always, thank you to everyone who is following my journey, talking about my work, sharing it with others, and supporting this little dream as it continues to grow. It means more to me than you probably realize. ❤️📸
