I’m doing research on Roots, Hoodoo, Voodoo, Magic and the sort, for a personal essay. My experiences with dreams and hags and the stories that were told to me about this kind of “magic” gives me the curiosity to ask questions and invite others to tell their stories.

Writer Jennifer N. Shannon was born and raised in Cheraw. She attended the University of South Carolina where she wrote a short story that led to her first novel, “Silent Teardrops”. Since then, Jennifer has written and published three books and had short stories and poems published in several literary magazines.
