Taking test laps around the yard and apparently we’ve got a regular visitor now. 🦺🐻

Pretty sure it’s the same guy from a few days back. He wasn’t thrilled about the camera 📸 he climbed a tree, gave me a look. We had a little chat. We’re good now.

Out of croutons though, so dinner’s off.

This is Connecticut. Backyard test flights come with wildlife negotiations.

Drop a 🌿 if you’ve had unexpected company during a flight or just tell me what snacks I should keep on hand for next time.

📸 Follow along for more aerial work, FPV flights, and occasional wildlife diplomacy.

Got out early this morning for a photo dump around Torrington clear skies, quiet streets, and the drone in the air before some people had their first cup of coffee.

The new middle and high school is the real showstopper. These buildings are sharp. Whoever designed them did the town right and from above, they look even better. The athletic fields are nearly finished too.

There's something about watching a community investment like this come together. This is where kids are going to go to school for the next generation. That's worth documenting.

Torrington — you're looking good from up here. 👊

What do you think — does your town have a spot that deserves the aerial treatment? Drop it in the comments.

What does "getting my laps in" look like when you fly FPV?

A few flips. Some hard lines. A slow, steady horizon. Me trying to make a single tree cinematic, and honestly, I think I got it.
And somewhere in the middle of all that, the little guy is outside watching every move. My wife looked over and said I was giving him dinner and a show. She's not wrong. Kid is glued to it every time. At this rate he'll be on the sim before he's stringing sentences together.

This is the part of the job that doesn't look like work but it's where the feel for the stick actually comes from. Every flight counts, even the backyard ones.

Drop a 🎮 if your kid has already claimed the controller.

Ever wonder what actually goes into a single afternoon of flying?

This is the quiet part nobody sees, batteries on the charger, SD cards getting wiped and labeled, gimbal checks, the whole Pre-Flight checklist getting run twice. Next weekend I'm covering a music festival, and prepping for an event like this is a different animal. More people, more moving parts, tighter airspace considerations, so the gear check matters even more.

There's something satisfying about laying it all out and knowing everything's dialed in before you even leave the house. No surprises, no scrambling on site, just showing up ready to capture the good stuff.

What's your pre-big-day ritual? Coffee and a checklist, or are you a fly-by-the-seat-of-your-pants kind of person?

Tag a friend who'd love behind-the-scenes content like this, and give us a follow so you don't miss the footage. 📍

Ever notice how the best skies show up right after the worst weather?

Tonight's storms rolled out and left behind one of those CT skies that makes you stop whatever you're doing and just look up. Layers of color stacking up over the New England treeline, a rainbow cutting through the clouds, that golden light hitting everything just right.

Got the drone up just in time to catch it from an angle most people don't get to see.

What's your favorite spot around CT to watch a sunset like this?

Drone batteries charged. Camera settings dialed in. Mindset? Locked in.

Next week marks a first for me, flying FPV / Drone work at a music festival Northlands Music Festival in Swanzey, NH. Most of my flying happens in high-stakes, technical environments, so stepping into an event like this feels like a full-circle moment, same skills, completely different energy.

This clip is me dialing in some slower, more cinematic movement steady horizons, smooth lines, not the typical fast-paced FPV angle. Motor output is turned down to keep things controlled, and I'll likely dial it back even further for the event. Beyond FPV, I'll also be covering the festival with standard aerial work and ground photography.

Anyone catching Northlands next week? Drop a comment if you'll be there, would love to connect.

Follow along for behind-the-scenes clips leading up to the event, and feel free to share with anyone heading to the festival.

Flew something a little different, a slow 360 flyover of the old Collinsville Axe Factory, climbing altitude as it spins. One full revolution, top to bottom. The kind of shot that lets the building do the talking.

I sped it up slightly for the final cut — if you caught that, you've got a good eye.

There's something about this place at dusk. The light hits the old brick in a way that makes you stop scrolling.

Some places carry weight even before you raise the drone.

This is the former Hudson River Psychiatric Center in Poughkeepsie, NY or what's left of it. On June 3rd, a multi-alarm fire tore through the campus and took the Kirkbride Administration Building with it. A National Historic Landmark, gone in an afternoon.

We made the drive out with the family and the gear to document what remains while it still stands. Seven images and a short reel all of it captured while sections of the structure were still smoldering. The eerie quiet of a place that once housed thousands, now reduced to char and open sky.
This one stays with you. I never got the chance to document it before hand so It important to me to capture what remains.

Drop a comment if this hit home. And share it with a friend, places like this deserve to be remembered. Give a page a follow for more from above.
