It’s so easy to want to focus on getting a photo where everyone is looking at the camera (I really want that too!). But at least for me, while I love photos of my kids both smiling, I love even more the one of them looking at each other clapping and laughing. The photo where my son reaches up to me to be held reminds me of when he was smaller. The photo of my daughter’s little hands and feet bring me back to the squishiness that you wish you could just bottle up forever. The curls blowing in the wind, eyes full of laughter, and handprints on windows that can be washed away are all things that I’m so thankful can be captured in a moment to be looked back on for years. What a gift—truly a gift to be able to capture these little details for my family and for others.
