A few weeks from now I’ll be visiting Fallingwater in Pennsylvania, so before I open my sketchbook on location, I wanted to spend some time getting familiar with the shapes, angles, and character of the home.

Not every piece is meant to be finished art. Sometimes the sketch is simply practice, observation, and a way of slowing down long enough to really see what’s in front of you.

This is one of those studies.
