I stopped rushing to push out “content” and minimizing my work for social media platforms a long time ago. I used to apologize for it; not so much anymore. I’ve honestly come to enjoy the privacy of creating without the pressure of posting consistently. I was told it would hurt me as a business to not post everyday and while I did have some growing pains from being absent, honestly not much changed. The algorithm was already rigged against artist when we allowed the society that focused on being productive rather than being authentic. Social media isn’t real. You don’t need to sellout your souls to appease algorithms to adapt like machines. We are not machines…….and you don’t need the validity of numbers to know your work matters…..stepping away from the hustle culture absolutely helped my work grow in many ways.

The thing is…..I don’t create content; I create experiences, I show up for the best and sometimes hardest moments in people’s lives, I turn everyday people into poetry and visualize emotions in ways that make the past tangible. That’s the difference between artist and influencers. I’m one individual in a universe of many & staying authentic to what captivated me in documenting these moments is far more important to me than another cool photo set for the gram. To those who stuck around, I see you. Thank you for following me along for the glimpses of what I share online.
