Sometimes you need to pull over and whip out your camera and start shooting! I don't know what it was about this roadside find but I had to snap some pictures of this frozen abandoned trailer. The bench with the message written on it was a nice touch too.
Shots taken during the winter over 5 years ago in Ohio.

This was my childhood bowling alley in Youngstown, OH! It was originally called Wedgewood Lanes! at the time of the explore everything was left behind still! It has since been re-modeled into a construction warehouse. Enjoy the short!

The Republic Rubber Company in Youngstown Ohio was founded on February 28th, 1901. It was a one of the biggest providers of tires and rubber hoses for the automotive and aerospace industries. The company reached its peak with employing 2,300 people and having a yearly payroll of $4 million. The factory produced pneumatic and solid tires for the automobile industry as well as hoses and rubber belts. The company continued to expand and reached a capital high of $10 million.

The company expanded its property and built a new tire plant in 1907, a storage building in 1908, and a club house in 1913. The company prospered for a long time but dark days came upon it. The company was purchased by the Aeroquip company in 1963. The company did well until its closure in 1989 due to rising energy and maintenance costs. 350 people were left unemployed. The company was then abandoned shortly after and has been abandoned since. Enjoy these pictures of the remains from back in 2019.

This Factory was built in 1894. Westinghouse as a company was founded in 1886 by George Westinghouse (1846–1914), the inventor of the air brake and other devices, to construct and market AC electrical systems.

This factory lays in ruins as a shell of it former self and now sits as a graffiti canvas. A local artist usually will leave a mural here every year Several buildings were demolished that were apart of the factory. A scene from the first avengers movie was filmed here!

The architect of this temple was William J. Carter who was born in Cleveland and was chosen to design the temple in 1916. Construction was completed the following year in 1917 and the first Mason meeting took place on May 31, 1917.

The building had three floors with titled floors and would go on to be the meeting point of the local Masons for 52 years. But as the building aged and the cost of repairs and maintenance mounted, the decision was made to put the building up for sale in 1969. The Freemasons moved out and the building found other use for the next few years. In 1984 it was abandoned permanently.

Over the the years the place has fallen into disrepair and vandalism. It still stands today but only as a shell of itself. The photos were taken in 2019

The Youngstown Sheet and Tube Company Homes were built in the early 1900s for steel mill workers. It was the result of a strike that happened in 1916, the strike was about the wages, affordable housing and working conditions. In May 1918, the company established a subsidiary, the Buckeye Land Company, to build houses and apartments on a 40-acre hillside site within walking distance of the company’s Campbell Works. In 1918-1920 this became historically important as the first pre-fab concrete estate in the world.

Youngstown Sheet and Tube Company sold the houses in the 1940s and closed the Campbell Works in 1977. Since then, the concrete houses have been beset by abandonment, vandalism, and arson.

The city of Campbell and Mahoning County Land Bank started the project last month, the State Historic Preservation Office now says it needs to give its approval. Campbell hopes to make this site a green space and potentially a park. As of right now the demolition of the historic homes are on hold.

While out driving in the rural areas of Ohio I seen this sad abandoned school house caving in on itself. I had to stop and take a photo because it looked so surreal.
I took this photo in 2019 and as of today the whole thing has fully collapsed in on itself.
