Our trip to Alaska continues. This video of the Oregon Coast Highway 101 RV road trip takes us north along one of the most beautiful stretches of coastline we’ve seen, with dramatic ocean views, crashing waves, small coastal towns, and a few unexpected surprises along the way.
We start by leaving the Crater Lake area and heading back toward the Oregon Coast, spending a quick night at Thousand Trails South Jetty before continuing north on scenic Highway 101.
Along the way we stop to take in the incredible Oregon coastline, visit Thor’s Well, and spend the night at Thousand Trails Pacific City, where a short walk from the campground rewards us with a beautiful Pacific Ocean sunset.
The next day we’re finally doing something we skipped on our previous trip through Oregon — visiting the Tillamook Creamery! We explore the Creamery, pick up some Tillamook cheese, and, of course, sample the ice cream with a three-flavor ice cream flight.
Continuing north, we visit Seaside, Oregon, including the End of the Trail for the Lewis and Clark Expedition and a stop at Mo’s for something to eat.
Eventually we leave Oregon behind, cross the Columbia River into Washington, and head toward Ocean City. While exploring the Ocean Shores area, we stumble across the 2026 Ocean Shores Kite Festival — something we hadn’t planned on seeing at all.
Sometimes those unexpected discoveries turn out to be some of the best parts of a road trip.
From Highway 101 and Tillamook to Pacific sunsets, Seaside and hundreds of colorful kites, this leg of our RV journey to Alaska gave us another great look at just how spectacular the Pacific Northwest can be.
Thanks for traveling along with us!
