Seeing humanity through the lens.

I’ve spent decades capturing people as they are: quiet, unguarded, and deeply human. Every photograph I take is developed by hand in my darkroom, a process that reminds me to slow down and truly listen before I look.

My path has been anything but traditional; from serving in the Peace Corps to working as a journalist, demolition worker, and nurse…but each chapter has taught me how to see people with empathy. That’s what drives my work.

My new 12” hardcover book, Portraits from My Darkroom, features 100 black-and-white photographs spanning my lifetime of travel and connection. It’s both a collection and a reflection of what I’ve learned about being human.
