A client told me recently that she felt like we could genuinely be friends outside of sessions, and it made me stop and think because I feel that way a lot more than people probably realize!
I get this weird kind of front row seat into people's lives. I see how they talk to their kids, how they laugh with their spouse, and just the real stuff most people don't show.
I think because I'm pretty open myself and I'm not really a small talk person, I just say the real thing and people end up doing the same back.
By the time a session is over, I usually know more about someone than a stranger really would, and I think that's kind of the beauty of it!
It makes me think about how social media can make the world feel so cold and disconnected sometimes. Half of it isn't even real people, just profiles hiding behind a screen and it shows us a version of people that isn't really them. And honestly that's just not what I see when I actually sit with someone.
Most people, when you actually sit with them are genuinely kind. They are easy to talk to, good company, and the kind of people that make you want to hang out, or grab coffee with, not just do business with!
So anyway, I know this is a lot of rambling but moral of the story. The world is a lot kinder than your social media feed makes it look💛
