Slapped some color on crosswalk 1 of 3 yesterday and I’m excited to wrap it up tomorrow!! 🤩

Our painted crosswalks project is off to a great start! Artist Renee Royal is braving the heat to bring more beauty to Clarkesville. 😎☀️

🌸We’d like to thank the Mountain Laurel Festival for funding this project, which keeps dollars in the general fund! The Mountain Laurel Festival is a separate entity from the City, and their goal each year is to implement some type of beautification effort in Clarkesville.

🚧Due to paint cure time, this area of Monroe Street will likely be closed the remainder of the week.
We will continue to update the public as progress is made.

These dawg pawrents showed up, painted their hearts out and made their pups proud 🐾 such a fun night!!

Next Pawrent paint class will be September 12th at Aerial Mountain Springs in Clarkesville!! (Flyer coming soon, but go ahead and save the date!)

I am beyond excited to make this project come to life!! 🤩

🚨Pardon our Progress!🚨
A section of Monroe Street on the square will be closed Monday, August 17th from 8AM to 5PM due to beautification efforts. 🎨🖌️🫟
The screen shot here shows a series of 3 crosswalk mural installations, and “crosswalk c” will be the first installment.

🚧Barricades will be installed for the safety of the artist, and signage will be placed at the bottom of Monroe St. (near the intersection of Monroe St. & Bridge St.), signifying the closure.

Please note that parking on the square will not be affected!

Installments of each crosswalk will happen individually over the course of the next several weeks, as the artist anticipates completing the entire project sometime in September (weather permitting).
