Nine-bended Armadillo
Sporting an armor suite, poor eyesight, suspect hearing, and a nose better suited for finding food than enemies make for one oblivious mammal to the presence of photographers. Our backyard nesting buddies... Red-bellied woodpecker and bluebirds (not counting chickadees, house wrens, finches and others). The Bluebirds make a great target for Z9 auto capture (see previous post) because the nest is a predictable spot where the birds would show up, especially with 5 chicks to feed. As the title states, this is taken from our condo porch... living the zoologist dream (and a germaphobe nightmare). A mamma otter and her three kits come to drink at our pool... having poor eyesight means many residents saw them, some while in the pool.

Time-laps of the milky way galactic center rising over the Skyway bridge in St. Petersburg Florida. Too much light pollution to see it in all its glory, but a nice start trail in the end.
Shot from a private dock on Feb 20th from 4:30 am to 6am, 900 frames at 7sec f2.8 with 2 sec interval. Startrail created in StarStaX, saved as individual steps, and all 1800 frames joined in QuickTime into the movie.
