A few weeks ago, I was blessed with the opportunity to be a part of the media team at OneFest. I was stretched physically, emotionally, spiritually, & professionally in such a short amount of time that resulted in a lot of growth I didn't see coming. I also learned a few great life lessons!
But it almost didn't happen.
The week leading into OneFest, I had been struggling with extreme levels of physical exhaustion I don't remember feeling before without knowing why and a lot of internal self-doubt. But, I still felt that push from the Lord to do it anyway.
So I DID. And I'm so glad I did! There were so many amazing people I got to meet with 4 states represented among us & a few important lessons I learned that I'll share throughout this week with you all.
The first lesson came from Troy as he shared some wisdom to not forget to keep the Lord first & that we may never know who is at the music festival that may be looking up to us & pointing out to their parents that they'd like to be like us one day. This wisdom hit me really hard when I was culling & editing photos from the high school onevoice contest because I used to do a lot with singing, choir, & worship music back when I was in high school but opportunities like OneVoice weren't around when I was a teen. So as I was editing photos of the contestants & processing through Troy's words, I was seeing reflections of my younger self & having a reminder of how we're all created to reflect our Creator through our gifts & the things we're passionate about doing!
