Ogren Branding // Hysham, Mt

It feels good to take off the cowgirl boots for a day and pick up my camera. These days feel few and far between with all of the rodeos I’m driving my kids to. I enjoy it all but am super grateful for picture taking days.

That being said… my schedule for June has opened up. Message me to schedule your branding/equine portrait photo shoot. Seniors, be thinking about your photos too.

"Rolo" is consigned by Brittany Allestad and the Borderview Bell Ranch to the League of Legends Invitational Horse and Stock Dog Sale.
Beautiful and handy, Brittany trained this handsome gelding to be the perfect ranch horse for all of their needs.

I followed her around their vast, northeastern Montana ranch taking photos of them working together. These are some of my favorite images. There is so many more so stay tuned for more images and information on "Rolo".

To say I am proud of this girl is an understatement! She pulled herself together after a rough week and won the short go round in the breakaway at the Junior High Rodeo State finals! She ended 6th in the state.
Thank you, for coaching her and keeping her sharp!
Thank you, and family for keeping us rolling!
And as always, thank you for the great horses that we love and work so hard for us!

"Perfect"

This time of year, these flowers are what I most look forward to.
The are always happy. Have you ever looked at a flower and thought of somethings sad?
Probably not.

I was asked the other day… Do you photograph sales horses?

Why yes, yes I do.

It is May! The weather is finally warming up and the horses should be shed out and looking good. If you need sale photos, message me to get on the schedule.
I am based in Chinook, Montana, but will travel if it fits the schedule.

You need to post a picture of a tree. It's Earth Day. 🌎

So here ya go... Happy Earth Day! 🌳
Make it a good one. 🫶

This cute little tree sits on a hill on the Cowan and Son Ranch in the Bear Paw Mountains near Havre, Montana. On the day this image was taken there were moody clouds behind him, and I clearly appreciated the scene.

This image is available in the Nature Gallery on my website. I will post the link in the comments.

Have you ever been to Opheim?

___

Last fall, before the horses started growing winter hair, I drove to Opheim, Montana, and photographed a handful of well-bred horses for Brittany Allestad. The ranch was beautiful but my favorite thing, other than the horses and people, was this ancient, white barn.

We photographed a couple of horses inside the door of this beauty and then we went outside and used it as out background. It sure made the darker horses pop in these images.

To top it off, there were lights hanging from the ceiling for decoration and flowers were growing out front.
The girls helped set feet and get ears up while Brittany held them. They were great help!

Thank you, Brittany, for having me.
I enjoyed this day very much.

Message me to schedule your equine portraits soon.
My spring schedule is a little crazy.
