What a wonderful partnership but a very sad ending. 😞
💔🐾 The law enforcement community is mourning the loss of K-9 Ranger, a highly respected explosives detection dog whose passing came just weeks after the death of his longtime handler, Officer James Martinez.
For seven years, Ranger and Officer Martinez worked side by side, building a bond that colleagues described as extraordinary. Together, they helped protect countless people through bomb detection operations, security assignments, and public safety missions. To those who knew them, they were more than a K-9 team — they were family.
Tragedy struck three weeks ago when Officer Martinez was killed in an off-duty vehicle collision. According to fellow officers, Ranger never seemed to recover from the loss. He reportedly waited for his partner to come home, became withdrawn, lost interest in food, toys, and daily activities, and spent much of his time near the front door.

Beside him was Officer Martinez's folded uniform shirt, a final reminder of the partner he never stopped searching for.
