POST 5 — Quick FAQ Post

A few quick things I get asked:

Do you shoot weddings and engagements?
Yes, small ones.

Birthdays and family gatherings?
Absolutely.

Work/corporate events?
Yes.

Digital or film?
Both. I also do Polaroids and Instax.

How long does it take to get the photos?
Usually within a week. Film takes 1–2 weeks.

What film do you use?
Color or B&W. Usually Ultramax, Portra 400, or Ilford Delta.

Bad weather or cancellations?
We reschedule. Not a big deal.

Refunds?
No, but if you’re not happy, I’ll come back and take more. Easy.

If you want to book something, just send me a message.

Phones are great, but they don’t make the kind of photos you print and put on a shelf.

My goal is simple:
You enjoy your event.
I take the photos that help you remember it.

You get all the usable photos, plus the ones I think are the “best of.” Quick turnaround, film options, instant photos if you want them, and I can help with prints too.

If that sounds like what you’re looking for, just message me.

I like keeping pricing really straightforward:

Photography (digital + film + instant)
• $100 for the first hour
• $25 per half hour after that

If you want video included:
• $150 for the first hour
• $35 per half hour after that

Film + Instant:
• 35mm film: +$30 per roll (36 photos)
• Instax album (20 photos): $50
• Polaroid album (16 photos): $75

No deposit. Pay after the event, before I leave. Venmo, Zelle, cash.

If you need something different or longer — just ask. I’m flexible.

Stop holding your phone out for a wide-angle selfie.
You deserve better than that.

Let me bring a real camera, a tripod, and a little flash, and we’ll make a group photo you can actually print — something you won’t cringe at when your family is looking at it 50 years from now.

This is what I do.

If you want someone to take photos without turning your whole event into a production, that’s me.

I use small cameras. I shoot digital, 35mm film, Polaroids, Instax — whatever fits the moment. I stay out of the way and let things happen, but I’ll step in and give direction when you need it.

Services:
• Digital + 35mm film
• Short “home-movie” style video
• Polaroids and Instax albums
• Prints (small or big, framed or not)

Birthdays, engagements, family stuff, corporate events, portraits — all of it.

Message me if you want to book something.

A friend once said, “Sam is a memory maker,” and honestly that’s the best way to describe what I try to do.

We all have thousands of photos on our phones that we never look at. None of it gets printed, none of it lasts. I’m trying to bring some of that back.

If you want someone to photograph your event, kids, family, whatever — just message me.

Hey friends — just starting this little side project I’ve been thinking about for a while. I’m calling it someone with a good camera because that’s really all it is. I’m not trying to be a pro photographer or filmmaker — just someone who loves capturing real life with gear that’s a little better than your phone. If you’ve got a weekend thing — a party, a hang, a new baby, a porch jam, whatever — I’ll show up with a good camera, grab the good stuff, and send it your way. Photos, short videos, even Instax or Polaroids if you want something tangible. No pressure, no posing. Just real memories, documented. I'm mostly doing this on weekends in and around Chicago. Shoot me a message if you want to book or just have questions. Thanks for being here.
