I spend so much time sharing other people’s stories here that I realized I rarely share much of my own.
So, hi. I’m Daniela.
I grew up in a small town called Itápolis, in the state of São Paulo, Brazil. I have two sisters, and we’re incredibly close. Family is my foundation. It’s where I come from, what keeps me grounded, and what matters most to me.
I came to the U.S. to study, not knowing that one decision would change the course of my life. One thing led to another; I stayed, went to photography school, and eventually built a life and career here.
When I think about that girl who came here on her own, without her family nearby, and where I am today, I’m proud of how far she came.
A few things about me…
I need my coffee in the morning. I’m a homebody who also loves getting on a plane and discovering somewhere I’ve never been. I love fashion, beautiful interiors, movies that make me feel something, taking care of my health, and experiencing different cultures.
Today, my family has grown to include two stepchildren, two nephews who feel like my own, and Gucci, my fur baby, who is probably more spoiled than all of them. 😂
My husband likes to tell people that I won’t eat eggs unless I know their family history. He’s exaggerating…but not by much. 😂
And in what feels very fitting for my life, I actually met my husband at a wedding. He’s a DJ and the owner of Dream House Productions. We don’t work weddings together very often, but when we do, it’s pretty special.
I’m much more comfortable behind the camera than in front of it. But if you ever spend a wedding day with me, you’ll discover something that probably doesn’t show up here: when things get stressful, I get calmer. I’ve learned that sometimes people don’t need another person panicking with them. They need someone to look at them and say, “We’re okay. We’ll figure it out.”
So after all these years of telling everyone else’s stories, I thought it was time to step in front of the camera and share a little of mine.
