A non-breeding/immature blue grosbeak male. He could care less about the photographers because he was too busy enjoying all the snacks the dunes had to offer. 😎

Who doesn't love an eagle fly by? 😎

This just happened while walking at Fullersburg in Hinsdale. There were two eagles soaring together. I only was able to get a photo of one of them.

I love that we have eagles so close to home. 🥰😍

Another lifer for me this spring. This is a Western Tanager and they are a rare visitor to Illinois.

Love those colors! 🧡❤️💛🖤

I was able to watch him for a while, staying pretty high up in the trees successfully getting his snacks. Weather permitting, I will go back tomorrow to see if he comes down lower for me.

Savannah Sparrows are on the move across much of North America right now. Many are still passing through the central and northern U.S., while others have already settled onto breeding territories. Farther north, arrivals continue into May.

After sitting for over two hours waiting for mom to come home I finally I seen a flash of orange, along with the sound of a few short barks and we were all very excited to see her. It was getting very dark and she has been gone all day. Knowing she has so many busy roads to cross daily as she hunts, we worry for her safety all the time. 🧡
