Documentary, Natural Stylized Portraits, and Destination Wedding Photography by Studio Vérité Photography. Hello! My task is simple.

I am Kristy Walker, and I am Studio Vérité Photography. In 2007 I transitioned from newspaper photojournalists to wedding photojournalists, and formed Studio Verite Photography with my colleague, Justin Runquist. We traded our boots and cargo pants for dress shoes and suits. We once trained our lenses on dramatic news scenes, politicians, and sports stars. We chronicle the beauty, happiness, and h

ilarity that condenses itself in a wedding day. And although the subject matter has changed, the importance of making photos that are beautiful, revealing, telling, and evocative remains. Since 2007 we have photographed hundreds of couple's weddings and engagements. In 2017 Justin decided to pursue some other passions and interested and let me carrying the torch and to continue taking great wedding photography along with some of my favorite locally based 2nd photographers. The term vérité is French for "truth." It's my goal to make photographs with truthful and honest character that also possess a distinct style and vision. My goal is to capture the whole and unique story of each individual wedding day. I want to have fun, capture wonderful and real moments, and provide you with a wonderful portfolio of wedding images, that tells the story of your day. At the end of the day I want you to feel that having us around was as easy as hanging out with a friend - who happened to deliver the best photos you could have possibly imagined. Over the past decade as newspaper photojournalists turned wedding photographers, our work has brought us to plan and execute photo shoots in Mexico, India, Argentina, Poland and throughout the US. Our images have been awarded and acknowledged by the WPJA (Wedding Photojournalist Association) and Brides Magazine and their wedding photography have been featured on Style Me Pretty, and the pages of InStyle Magazine, Free People blog, and more...

Oh, hey there! It's been awhile since we've posted any of our weddings, although, many new weddings have been shot lately and shared, soon.

Some changes have been made here at Studio Vérité Photography. What used to be a two member wedding studio is now run solely by me, Kristy Walker. Justin decided awhile back to put his energy into pursuing other avenues of photography. I am going to miss working side by side with my good friend, but he has my biggest blessings. We had some wonderful times shooting destination weddings all over the country and world!

While trying to figure out how to move forward with my wedding photography, I've stalled trying to figure out if I should rebrand the name, etc. I think I am going with Kristy Walker/ Studio Vérité Photography, as SVP has made a name for itself as a wedding photography company. But I am open to suggestions and this idea still may change. Thank you for your patience!

Three weeks ago Justin and I traveled to New York city to cover the wedding of Maryanne and Gordon. They held their wedding in Brooklyn, which made the setting for their wedding one of our favorites ever! The rehearsal dinner was held at an old Italian restaurant that is 117 years old. It reminded us of what you would think it would remind us of.. .like being in a movie. You can only imagine the history in that place. I knew going into this wedding that they were going to hold a themed wedding but I was elated by how how well it was executed. It was classy and super fun and it gave me permission to be a bit more whimsical with how I approached shooting it. It was a beautiful day with portraits taken at The Prado in Balboa Park and the wedding held at The Lafayette Hotel.
