Out by the water with the Harlowe Rocket, Max 80, Mini 2, and a gobo.

The goal wasn’t to bring more gear.
It was to bring more creative freedom.

Harlowe removes the friction before the frame, so you can spend less time fighting the setup and more time pushing the light, the texture, and the idea further.

Save this for your next creative setup.

The Harlowe Rocket was built for the part of creating most people never see — the unpacking, adjusting, lifting, moving, and rebuilding between frames.

Fast to set up.
Easy to move.
Strong enough to trust.
Designed to keep pace with the work.

Because support gear should never be the reason the moment gets away.

Some of the best scenes start with no plan at all.

Just a few props.
A little curiosity.
And a light to shape the atmosphere.

In this video, Joseph Ford was simply experimenting with Harlowe lighting to see how a scene could evolve. Moving the light, adjusting the angle, and watching how shadows and highlights slowly bring the environment to life.

That’s the part of lighting people don’t always see.
I
t’s not just about making something brighter —
it’s about creating mood, depth, and story.
Sometimes a simple idea turns into something cinematic just by playing with the light.

If you had this setup, what kind of scene would you create?

Everyone is talking about the “Netflix interview lighting” look.

Soft shadows.
Dimensional faces.
A cinematic feeling that makes an interview look like a documentary.

Most people assume you need three or four lights to achieve it.

So we tried something different.

We set up the scene using just one light — the Harlowe Max 120W — and focused on shaping the light instead of adding more gear.

The result?
A dramatic, cinematic interview look created with a single source.

Because great lighting isn’t about how many lights you use.

It’s about how you control the one you have.

Watch the setup and see how the scene transforms.

Would you shoot an interview with one light or build a full 3-light setup?

It starts with a simple setup.
A table. A glass. A few coffee beans.

At first, the image is flat. The subject disappears into the scene.
But once the light is shaped and controlled, everything changes.

The highlights come alive.
The texture of the wood appears.
The steam and the pour suddenly feel cinematic.

That’s the difference intentional lighting makes.

In this shoot, we used two Harlowe Max 120W to transform a dark, simple setup into a dimensional scene full of depth and atmosphere.

-Powerful output
-Precision control
-Portable or studio-ready

Sometimes the biggest upgrade to your photography isn’t the camera…

it’s the light.

There is a patience in ‘s work that you can feel before you name it.

Nothing feels rushed. The frame carries a kind of certainty, as if each decision has already been tested against the subject itself.

In our latest article, we explore this discipline, the hours of looking, adjusting, refining, until the image holds its ground.
