I had the honor of capturing the 2022 Urban Native Education Conference at the Illinois Holocaust Museum in Skokie, IL. It was great to be immersed in the traditions and knowledge this conference provided. I learned so much and am truly moved to have been able to document such a historic experience.

Went to the to see the Life and Afterlife in Ancient Egypt exhibition today. I love Egyptian art but it’s so frustrating to know that these artifacts are spoils of war. It is amazing that this art has sustained 3,000yrs. I cannot wait to visit Egypt! Shoutout to for being a great model today!!

I couldn’t let Women’s History Month end without celebrating the Queen of my world, My Mommy. I love this woman so much and aspire to be like her in so many ways. I love our relationship now because I had to mature to realize the virtuous woman that she is. I thank God for this woman because she modeled my entire life what a Black Woman is and how a Black Queen should conduct herself. I am all that I am because of this woman. I celebrate her always. I strive to keep making her proud and I am working for her to enjoy a life a luxury because she has sacrificed so much for me. God has truly blessed me and I am so honored to be this woman’s daughter and legacy. Happy Women’s History Month.

I stopped making new year resolutions in undergrad, on NYE 2009 to be exact, which was the precipice of my undergraduate career and on April 3, 2010 I became a Delta. Me pledging was where GRIT, hard work, and determination met and God granted me a lifelong dream. So instead of resolutions, every year as I transition from one year to the next, I ask myself Frantz Fanon’s three fundamental questions:

1.) Who am I?

2.)Am I who I say I am?

3.)Am I all that I aught to be?
