Weddings are an opportunity to capture candid moments filled with emotion and direct people in a portrait environment. My goal is to not only capture the emotions of the day, but to create images that stand alone as pieces of art.

This was a really fun shoot - Jenn and Dan are a very entertaining and silly/goofy couple. The outtakes are hilarious. As Dan got more and more tired during this 3-4 hr shoot, there was less energy for the goofiness.

This wedding happened in early March, before the stay-at-home orders. It was a joy to capture the joining of two loving families and see the amount of love they have for each other.

With how much sad and disappointing news there has been the last few weeks, I'm glad to share images that capture love.

(this was my first City Hall wedding I've photographed. It was at Boston City Hall)

Diana and Jiayong were a joy to work with. They were cracking each other up and cracking me up throughout the session (they met doing standup comedy) in between moments of sharing introspective, emotionally intelligent, and deep conversation.

This proposal was a joy to shoot aside from being I think the first fall day in the 30s. Patrick and Nicole met their senior year at Boston College outside this mod (short for "modular homes," dorms, with individual yards, originally slated to be a temporary housing solution in 1971). They bought tickets to the BC football game, and the plan was for them tailgate in the morning. Patrick hid the ring inside multiple hats, bought shoes and a corduroy suit in BC colors (but had a friend take the jacket so Nicole wouldn't see it), made up an excuse to get there earlier to help set up for the tailgate, and Nicole joined later. Patrick told the mod residents to let other friends/students know there was a proposal planned so all the students tailgating, for the most part, stayed inside the mods to keep the moment a bit more private (at least in the background of the proposal frames). It was such a great moment when he proposed; the crowd erupted and cheered really loudly. I placed myself surrounded by a group of students to not give away that there's a professional photographer there when Nicole was walking down the path towards this mod yard. Patrick and Nicole's friends and family were there for the surprise too.

Coincidentally, I actually photographed them during their senior year during the 100 days to graduation celebration, and a singing competition Patrick entered. (Several different offices at BC have hired me for work over the years.) Patrick pointed these photos out when he first contacted me about this shoot.

This day was filled with moments of love. (It's probably best to let the photos tell the story.) There was a huge thunderstorm that rolled through north of us over Boston and we only had about 2 minutes of drizzle. It certainly made for some interesting skies. The celebration was awesome. So much dancing and fun.
