My name is Jeanne.... and I LOVE visiting unique places. Transylvania is a must see once in your life to learn the history and culture. Also learn the truth about Dracula and Vampires.

What is one thing sitting on your someday list?

This is Strada Sforii — Rope Street — in Brașov, Romania, in the Transylvania region.

It’s one of the narrowest streets in Europe, measuring roughly 1.1–1.35 meters wide in places, and about 80 meters long. It was originally used as an access passage for firefighters between streets.

I think I will start at celebrating National Parks Week.

I absolutely love that I can photograph and share these experiences. My goal is to visit them all in my lifetime. Standing in some of these parks takes my breath away and realize people created these parks so we can catch a glimpse of that beauty.

I designed Wild and Free Adventures because I know this is what I am supposed to be doing but it is so much more than what you see.

Over the next 30 days I am opening up every part of the Wild and Free world: four kinds of retreats, the side quests I send by mail, a book club built for people who read like they travel, and the behind-the-scenes work that makes it all happen.

“Adventure has never just been about collecting passport stamps for me…”

Last year, a group of us had the incredible opportunity to volunteer at the Iditarod in Alaska.

Every year, I want at least one Wild & Free adventure to go a little deeper—to hit that soul piece.

Because I truly believe one person can make a difference. And when we have the chance to step outside of ourselves, give our time, and become part of something bigger… why wouldn’t we?

Adventure can change us. But sometimes, it can also give us the opportunity to leave something good behind.

Today is World Elephant Day.

World Elephant Day on August 12 raises global awareness for elephant conservation. Learn about threats like poaching, habitat loss, and how to support these majestic creatures.

This is one of my favorite pictures taken on my last Serengeti Safari. I also have adopted an elephant from the Sheldricks Orphanage which I visited on a trip to Kenya.

PS I do hope in my lifetime I visit all National Parks... Tetons are in my top 10.
