A few spring macro photos. I love going to any park or hiking trail and sitting on the ground, and just photographing whatever I see around me. Everything is more interesting when it's magnified a dozen or more times. :)

I took this photo while out on a macrophotography hike in March 2020, and had no idea what it was. (It really kinda freaked me out....lol.) This is a cordyceps fungus, also referred to as the "zombie fungus," which has infected and killed a wasp.

A lot of people take cordyceps for their potential (*not yet evaluated by the FDA) health benefits, which include possible cancer-shrinking properties, reducing complications associated with cancer treatments, helping manage Type 2 diabetes, and fighting inflammation.

Also, it killed a wasp. 👊 Wish I could go back in time and take this thing home with me!

Exciting announcement:

My photography is now available for purchase at Bushel & A Peck in East Ridge, TN. This is super exciting because I have previously been relying on halfhearted semi annual Facebook posts from my personal page to sell the stockpile I have amassed. It's also awesome because the owner, Laura, seems passionate about giving local artisans a place to sell their products. I snapped a few photos when I was there signing the contract earlier today. :)

They are closed on Mondays, but please feel free to stop by and check out the store on any other day of the week!

Here's a little video I created detailing a little bit of my editing process. I'm not claiming that my way is the best way. It IS the way I edit. And in this time when so many of us are bored at home, it's definitely not a bad time to learn how to edit photos inefficiently. :)

Because in this quarantine season, editing a photo for 30+ minutes might just feel like an adventure. Yeah, there are programs that can automate HDR, but tho...
