“If it could rain on the moon”

I took this picture in October 2021, after recently trading in my Canon F1 for a film camera with an autofocus feature. They say it’s the “90’s wedding photographer” camera. So far I’ve only shot 3 Fuji color rolls on it.

This photo is from the morning after a rainy day. The shallow depth of field makes it look like space- I love it. Even better, the droplets hold a reflection of the house I stayed in while in Charlottesville.

My photo resolution for 2022 is to explore the world of Macro photography. I’d love advice if you have any.

I hope the new year has treated you kindly.

Portland, Maine • June 17, 2021• shot on Kodak Portra 400

This past June, I took a trip to Maine’s Coast. Having never been to Maine before, I decided to use the opportunity to dive back into film. I packed only my Canon F1 camera and 6 rolls of film. I learned later that my film camera has a light leak in the top right corner, but all is well. It’s all practice and a part of the learning process. This photo is my favorite from the first roll… AND somehow it was spared from the light leak! 🙏 small wins
