Make space for yourself
One of my photo professors encouraged haiku‘s at the end of tests, not for extra credit, but just for a fun creative exercise. It’s something I still enjoy doing, but in this case applying it to captioning a photo.

Something called me back to the beginning of my photography journey. I don’t know if it’s just the ebb and flow of the creative process or the overwhelming amount of AI slop.
Film photography is slow compared to digital. However there’s something special about knowing you have properly exposed images without having to see it immediately on a monitor.
came by the studio for what could only be described as a creative play date. He shot 4 x 5 and I shot 120. In two hours of hanging out we captured 15 images.. deliberately slow and consciously connected.

It was 2004 the last time Charlotte saw this much snow. I was in high school and remember sledding for hours with all my neighbors.
Now 22 years later my kids and all our neighbors did the same. I am sure I annoyed my kids with the constant reminder of how special this was and how you might be my age before you see it again.
