I have been watching flight software for over 4 months waiting on the C17 to come back across Tillery. The last time was the first week of June. Due to the nature of it, by the time you hear it, it's already on the way out so I wanted to be prepared.

My plan was to have the drone up and zoomed in to snap a photo from the air while I photographed from below with my Nikon. When I saw it on the map, coming across 109 and the Uwharries I started setting up. As soon as I launched the drone, I could hear it coming down the lake. I didn't get the set up I wanted but I managed to have it record video while I grabbed my camera. Not the best angle, but better than nothing. So, we wait until the next time.

Based on flight radars information, he was at 500 feet above sea level. My house is approximately 86 feet above sea level so that means he was about 414 feet above ground level.

This morning, we were able to see the space station fly by just before the SpaceX rocket launch that was sending supplies to the space station came by. It made for a really cool display.
