Please remember, this building is under new ownership. This building will not continue in this condition once plans are made based on what can be done with the existing structure.

Several weeks ago, Albemarle Downtown allowed people to get a glimpse into the Center Theater on Main Street. Since that time, I have been allowed back in to film the entirety of the building and granted permission to share it here. We accessed the original projector room which is at the very top and back of the theater which hasn't been accessible for decades. (Watch to the very end to see the reference I made a while back about flying through a hole in a roof. I'm used to flying in tight spaces, but this was one that if I'd misjudged, I would have played heck getting it back)

Yep. I did that. I flew my drone through the hole of a roof today knowing if I miscalculated I probably wouldn’t get it back. But it was worth the shot. Stay tuned

Harder to chase with a drone than the naked eye when you've never tried before.

The Badin Historic Museum is working on The Spark Plug Project. If you're not familiar with the Spark Plug, it was a 1920s Edwards Self-Propelled Railcar designed to transport people from diffent locations for work purposes. The original car was located in SC and brought back to Badin for restoration. Along with that project, they are working to clear the original rail bed that ran behind Herman Bost's old body shop building on Pine Street, past the Coal drop trestle near the boat landing, and through the woods by the lake to Narrows Dam. At this point, the original rail bed has been cleared from the trestle to the property line of Morrow Mountains land. Follow along and take a virtual ride and imagine what this trip would be like on a railcar going near the Hardaway site and the Narrows Dam.
