Hey Shrop, should my podcast be audio or video? 🎙️🎥

Think about how your audience will tune in, what you want to create, and what you can realistically keep up with.

Audio lets people take your conversations along for the commute, a walk, or whatever’s on their schedule. Video adds the faces, expressions, and personality behind the mic, plus moments you can turn into clips for social media.

And you can do both! A video recording can also become an audio episode, giving your audience more ways to tune in. Which is was we recommend!

Choose a format that fits your goals and helps you show up consistently. You have room to grow as your show grows. 🙌

Got a podcasting question of your own? Drop it below for a future Hey Shrop! 👇

Founder-led content wins because trust is becoming more personal.

Audiences want more than brand updates. They want perspective, leadership, and a reason to believe.

When founders show up consistently, they build familiarity before the first conversation ever happens.

In 2026, the brands that win will not just publish more.

They will sound more human.

helps founders turn their perspective into content that builds authority, trust, and demand.

Your podcast, website, and social content are all part of the same brand ecosystem.

When they don’t align, your audience has to work harder to understand you — and that friction can cost you trust, clarity, and conversions.

Strong brands don’t just create more content.
They create connected content.

Same message.
Same positioning.
Same brand experience.
Different formats.

That’s what makes people remember you.

Save this for your next content audit.

🎙️ “Hey Shrop, how many episodes should I have recorded before launching my podcast?”
Three? Five? An entire season?

There’s no magic number that works for every podcast. Your starting point should fit your show, your schedule, and what you’re comfortable maintaining.

What a night at Corks for a Cause! 🍷

The FocalGroove team was proud to be part of The Open Door House’s annual fundraiser at Green Leaf Farms last night. It was an evening full of generosity and connection, with a whole community showing up for young adults who deserve a real shot at independence.

Here’s why it matters. Every year, more than 500 young adults age out of foster care in North Carolina, and about 100 of them become homeless right away. The Open Door House stands in that gap. Their residential program gives young adults ages 18 to 21 a safe home, a caring community, and hands-on support with education, careers, finances, and wellness. They don’t just provide housing. They help residents build futures they can call their own.

Right now they can serve four residents at a time, and they get more referrals each month than they have room for. That’s what the “Opening Doors, Building Futures” campaign is all about: a $6M, six-year plan to grow from 4 young adults to 26. Phase One renovates a duplex into homes for six more residents, plus an Education and Enrichment space for coaching, life skills, and mentoring.

We had the privilege of producing the campaign video that premiered last night, and spending time with this team, their volunteers, and their supporters reminded us of something Kathy Lista and her team say often: love makes the difference.
