That was the pitch around 1960. Back then, turning a slide into a print was the exciting new way to share a memory with a friend.

Today, the same idea applies, with higher stakes. Slides fade, film degrades, and VHS tapes lose quality every year they sit in a closet or basement. The technology to play them is disappearing too.

Sunday Stories
If you don't tell the story, it's lost forever.

I've sat with so many families surrounded by beautiful old photos, and no one in the room could say who was in them. The photo survived. The story didn't.

So here's an idea: Sunday Stories. Once a week, gather the family, pull out a photo (or a few), and let someone tell the story behind it. Hit record on your phone. That's it.

My dad and his convertible, summer of 1960. This car has a bigger role in my parents' love story than you'd guess.

They met in 1958 at a basketball game. Dad joined the Marines soon after and got stationed at Parris Island, but couldn't take the car with him, so he left it with my mom. She drove it back and forth to visit him the whole time he was away.

They married in May of 1960. This photo is from that June. I was born the next year, and the car was gone not long after.

Without the story, it's just a man and a car. With the story, it's how two people fell in love across a few hundred miles.
